Car description

Selling my 68 Road runner. This is a real RM21 car, not a clone.
Originally a 383 automatic car now it has a 440. Runs and drives and never fails to start.
It has new:Re-chromed bumpersFuel tank and sending unitBrakes including master and wheel cylinders, hoses and shoesTiresArm rest pads and basesInside and outside door handles/ window cranksOutside mirror
Overall the interior is in good shape, seats were recovered (not original pattern but they look decent). There is one small tear in the driver side backseat (less than 1 inch long and all fabric is there.) The original AM radio and Heater controls are in the dash but the chrome is not very nice and they are not hooked up. Both heater cables are included with the car.
Mechanically the car works well, it always starts up for me with minimal cranking even after sitting for a couple weeks. The manual brakes stop the car easily and smoothly. The power steering works effortlessly. The reverse lights do not work currently because the plastic trip pin on the bottom of the steering column snapped, however the switch and wiring do work if you move the switch by hand. As you can see under the hood, it needs a new windshield washer bottle and pump.
The body is solid and does not have any rust coming through. The following body work was done prior to me owning the car. The paint is shiny but overall there are many chips in the paint and the large scratch on the left front fender that require the whole car to be repainted. As you can see in the passenger side of the trunk the lower quarter panel was replaced with rivets retaining the metal. It is not noticeable from the outside unless you're looking for it. The driver door was recently aligned with new hinge pins and bushings, but the striker plate in the door and body pillar are weakened and need patch work. The door latches but will not pull tight until the striker plate is repaired. I felt the appropriate time to repair the striker plate is when the car is to be painted.
The fender tag is there, it was ordered Burgundy with painted white top and the finish panel is original as well. I have tried to bring this car back to original one part at a time.
I really enjoy this car and hate to see it go, but I have another Road Runner project in my basement that I would like to finish and with 3 young children its hard to find time for 1 project let alone 2!
Please please please ask any questions before you bid on this car. I will do my best to answer any questions to the best of my knowledge and I would rather be upfront about everything and not waste everyones time. This car is not perfect, but it is a good driver and with a new paint job it will turn heads.
I have set the reserve at what I believe to be a fair price (way below 20K!) and much lower than other 68-70 Road Runners have sold for in the last 90 days.
