Car description |
---|
This is a very original and rust free 1968 Plymouth Satellite. This is the same b-body style as the Road Runner and GTX.
This car is believed to have under 50,000 original miles. The paint is roughly 40% original with only the body sides being resprayed. The Vinyl top is new, and the paint shines very nice. All the moldings are in place and in great shape. The only minor dings in the moldings are on the wheel lip trim.
All the glass is in exceptional condition with no scratches or chips except for the front windshield. The front windshield has some fogging in the glass and a couple rock chips. I do not feel the windshield needs replaced and I feel like the imperfections add to the survivor feel of this car. All the windows operate very smoothly.
The wheels and tires included in this sale are 4 Edelbrock 5 spoke, 15" x 8" rims with BF Goodrich tires. The two rear tires are new, the two front have a few thousand miles on them. Also included in the sale are 5 14" x 6" magnum 500 wheels with red line bias ply tires. The bias ply tires look to be almost new.
The car runs and drives very well. I installed 4 new shocks last summer. I also installed two new front drums and new shoes last summer. The brakes work very well with no shutters or pulling. This car has effortless power steering and has very little play in the steering wheel. I put over 2,000 miles on it last summer and it was an absolute joy to drive.
The car also features ice cold air conditioning for those hot summer days. Seriously, the air conditioning blows colder in this car than in my late model vehicles.
The interior is in very good shape with no dash cracks, new seat covers, and is totally complete and, as far as I can tell, original except for the seat covers. The carpet and headliner show wear appropriate for the age of the vehicle, but are in very presentable shape. The car is a radio delete car.
The undercarriage of the car is absolutely rust free. I've looked it over and see no evidence of rust or rust repair. The original undercoating is present. This is one of the most original, rust free cars you will find.
As far as I can tell, there has been no major body work with the car. The quarter panels, doors, trunk lid, fenders, and hood all look to be original and rust free. The trunk pan is also rust free. Again, this is one of the most rust free b body car you will find. All body panels line up nicely with nice consistent panel gaps and the doors open and close very easily.
The engine is a 318 2 barrel and is fun and effortless to drive. I am used to big block muscle cars and was pleasantly surprised by the acceleration and exhaust sound of this car. It is also nice not to have to stress about it overheating. The car has never got hot, and other than the gas gauge not being very accurate, there is nothing to stress about while driving it.
This car is also well documented with an almost perfect Production Broadcast Sheet, an Owners Certicard the Operating Instructions manual, and the Customer Care Warranty. I am also including a 1968 Plymouth dealer brochure.
The last picture of the car is my favorite picture, and has the 17" magnum 500 wheels that I primarily had on the car. Those wheels ARE NOTincluded in this sale.
I have a very realistic reserve set for this car. The car is available for inspection. Please text if you are a serious bidder and have any questions. Jeremy (815)26O-357O.
