Car description

This car was given to me by my Grandfather in 1990. He purchased it in 1971. When he gave it to me, it had been sitting outside for 15 years and was in pretty bad shape. My Dad and I fixed it up mechanically and I drove it for a short time while in high school. After that it sat in a garage until 1997, when I had more time and money to begin a restoration. I bought quarter panels from Desert Specialties in Arizona and had those professionally installed. Also at that time custom made patch panels for the lower front fenders were professionally installed. The car was painted in a base coat/clear coat that perfectly matched the original color of the car. The interior has new carpet, new seat covers and a new headliner installed. The engine was originally rebuilt in 1998 to stock specs. After sitting for so long, we found that it had rust in the cylinder walls. So, two years ago it was taken apart once again and freshened up by a professional engine shop. I had an aluminum 4 barrel intake (very rare for this engine) installed, as well as a new Edelbrock carburetor. The transmission and converter were rebuilt in 1999 and have worked well since they were put back in the car. The brakes and brake lines have all been replaced or rebuilt within the last three years. The rear end has been freshened, the fuel tank has been cleaned and sealed and all fuel lines have been replaced. The bumpers have been rechromed, and the pot metal (taillights, outside mirror, front emblem) has been restored. The undercarriage was stripped of most undercoating and POR 15 paint was applied. Now, here is what needs to be done with the car. The paint has come off in several places on the car. I am not sure what has happened, but it seems to be not adhering well in certain spots. The instrument cluster bezel needs to be redone. It needs an aircleaner for the new carburetor. It has a minor transmission leak, which could be from not being driven enough. There are some trim pieces that need to be reinstalled.I have all of the original parts that were taken off the car. This includes the original carburetor, intake, wheels, tires and hubcaps. As you can tell, a lot of time, money and effort has been put into this car. Please call (574) 315-8979 and I will answer any questions you may have. Thanks.
