Car description

This Fury is an excellent, rust free, and rare car. The body is straight, the paint is very good, indicating one repaint with a few chips which have been touched up with a brush. Very presentable. The bumpers are excellent and the body side moldings are very good with just a few minor door dings. The carpet is excellent and the upholstery is very good, showing some wear but no rips or tears. I replaced the convertible top, top motor/pump, top well, and top boot last year. The Poly 318 C.I. motor starts and runs perfectly and the pushbutton Torqueflite trans. operates and shifts as it should. The rarity, according to some MOPAR experts, is in the option list. Factory options include:Power steeringPower brakesPower windowsPower front seatDealer installed Chrysler "Cool Air" air conditioningBumper guards
The original delivery acceptance certificate shows the car was delivered to its original owner, a lady in Stockton Ca. in Oct. '64. A Ca. registration renewal receipt from 2002 indicates the car was still owned by the same lady still living at the same address. A Midas Muffler invoice included in the paper work indicates the car had accumulated less than 14,000 miles up to 1985. The current odometer reading is approximately 39,000 miles and, though I don't have evidence to prove this is actual, the odometer works, and the overall operational condition and appearance of the Fury lead me to believe it may be. Other than one repaint and, possibly, new seat covers at some point, there doesn't appear to have been any restoration of the car. The door and panel gaps are uniform and narrow. Everything works but the clock, including the A/C which cools great but will lose its charge after several days of non use. It was apparently undercoated at or near delivery and the few places where undercoating is missing, such as the lift contact points, show rust free white painted metal. The windows all go up and down but operate somewhat slowly. The 15" Centerline wheels & tires are, obviously not original but look great and make it drive and ride better. The car drives great, I drove it from Oregon to Texas last year with no issues. I added 1 qt. of oil in 2400 miles which is a lower consumption rate than was considered normal for a new car in '64. Documentation includes the previously mentioned items as well as the new owner's "Certicard", original owner's manual, and A/C owner's manual. I just have too many cars so something has to go. The car is also advertised locally so I reserve the right to end the bidding early. Please call 210-867-4534 (Bud) if you have questions and thanks for your interest.
