In the winter of 1927, he was killed in a car accident (not with the Packard but with the Cadillac). The surviving heirs had no interest in the near-new Packard, which later on was sold to a man by the name of Holger Thiel, who for some unknown reason failed to register it before the 2nd World War. Thiel had become seriously ill (sclerosis) and put it for sale. Georg Christiansen bought it and put hours and hours in the restoration of the car in the beginning of the 1960's. The ideology was clear: the restoration should be as original as possible. Over the years, The Christiansen family has had many great holiday trips in this car as it has been a very reliable vehichle. There is also a lot of space in it.
