Car description

For your consideration and please read carefully. This 1955 Packard has been stored in this garage, in Southern California, since 1973. We acquired this Caribbean in August 1973. This car is NOT complete. For instance, it is missing the original dual carburetor "Bat Wing" air cleaner and the carburetors. I DO have an original dual 4 barrel, cast iron intake manifold, that is included in the sale. The rear seat was NOT with the car when we brought it home. I do have another Packard 2 door rear seat that could be modified and is included in the sale. Some trim is missing. The original Ultramatic transmission was removed years ago, and a Packard 3 speed manual transmission has been installed, using original Packard parts. My father was in the process of making this Caribbean a complete car, when he passed away in 1993. The engine in the engine compartment is NOT the original engine, however, we do have the engine that was in the car when we acquired the Packard, which I believe is the original engine. That is the engine that will go with the car and NOT the engine that is installed. There is no warranty expressed or implied. This 1955 Packard is advertised locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. It appears that this Packard Caribbean is wearing the original paint. See the photo of the left door jamb. The original colors are white jade, fire opal and onyx. Years ago, we installed a replacement right front fender, because the original one had some superficial damage. We still have that fender and it is included in the sale. I believe the original locale for this Packard was western Arizona. I have not looked, but as far as I know, the body does not have any rust. I do not have photos of the Packard outside, but I can take additional pictures in key areas if needed. This Packard Caribbean is a great candidate for a restoration and it just so happens, there will be a model similar to this at Pebble Beach next week. The class is Eisenhower Era Dream Convertibles. US shipping only. Please ask questions. Inspection by appointment. Payment due in 7 days, bank wire is preferred. Thank you for looking.
