1955 PACKARD CARIBBEAN CONVERTIBLE - RARE - RARE - RARE - RARE
I purchased this vehicle a few years ago from the estate of a local Packard collector. We freshened up the engine and detailed the engine compartment along with installing a new hydraulic kit for the top.
Originally finished in White Jade, Zircon and Sapphire with the tri-tone leather interior - it is my understanding that the white was repainted a number of years ago but the two tones of blue are still the original paint. I don't think the original white was stripped off as the hood and a couple other areas of the car are showing signs of paint cracking. The interior is in great shape which would lead me to believe that it had been replaced at some point based upon age and mileage. I have every reason to believe that the 63,229 is the correct mileage of the vehicle. The vehicle runs and drives great.
I have downsized my garage and have to make difficult decisions on what to keep or sell, I am sure that I will have regrets on this one.
The Packard Caribbean featured an innovative front and rear torsion bar suspension system with automatic leveling making making them some of the smoothest riding and best handling full-size cars of the era. It wowed the editors at Motor Trend Magazine, who proclaimed that the Packard can "float you through severest of bumps with the greatest of ease." Priced from $5,932, just 500 examples of these highly equipped and very stylish cars were produced for 1955. Packard's famous marketing advertisement simply stated "ask the man who owns one".
This vehicle is for sale locally and may be removed from the auction at anytime. The vehicle is being sold "as-is" where is and there are not warranties either expressed, written or implied. The car is located in Cincinnati Ohio and we encourage you to come inspect, drive and determine for yourself if the condition and merits of this vehicle meet with your approval. Buyers with less than a 15 positive history must contact me prior to bidding.
If you have questions or need additional photos, please let me know.
