Due to a non paying bidder. I am going to list this this car one more time. You are bidding on a One-Of-A-Kind BERKELEY Race Car. Street Car Project. This car has the potential for amazing performance! Please see the following details:THE PROJECTI purchased this project 3. 5 years ago with the intention of finishing it and using it for street. autocross. and land speed racing. This BERKELEY is a reproduction fiberglass body which was produced by a company in the Pacific Northeast years ago. The body is in nice condition with no cracks or defects. it only needs sanding and priming to be ready for paint. The previous owner. who was a master HVAC tinsmith. did all of the aluminum floorboards. tunnel. firewall. rear bulkhead. and inner fender wells which are expertly done. The previous owner also scratch built the custom chassis utilizing motorcycle. ATV. and dune buggy components thus giving this BERKELEY great performance potential and easily replaceable or upgradeable chassis components. The alloy wheels and DOT approved street tires alone were in excess of $500. The previous owner selected a Kohler (or Tecumseh) vertical shaft V-Twin (which is also brand new) and a Kawasaki ATV transmission. He was unable to get this power combination coupled together and finally sold the project to me. MY VISIONI felt this BERKELEY project needed a simpler. more powerful engine and transmission. After much research. I selected the Honda CX500 as the perfect power source for this car. The water cooled V-Twin with 5 speed gearbox and shaft drive would be easier to connect and provide lots of power. AND. after we had a running driving BERKELEY the plan was to upgrade to the CX500 or CX600 TURBO engine combination which would deliver crazy power to a 600lb car!I purchased a used 1980 Honda CX500 and parted out all of the bits and pieces that I didn't need. What is left is a complete Honda CX500 V-Twin. radiator. carburetors. throttle. wiring. instruments. exhaust. ignition. transmission and drive shaft. All the major components you need to build the car are here. I also added a quick release steering wheel hub and light wight racing steering wheel. Two black go cart seat covers work great for the limited seating space. OTHER PIECESOther parts included with this BERKELEY project include. bumper quick jack brackets (from a Factory 5 Cobra). Berkeley nose emblem. new door latches. lexan headlight covers and weatherstrip. tail light lenses. parking lights. chrome rear view mirror. racing fender mirrors. roller throttle pedal. new pedals and master cylinders. master kill switch. and fuel cell. I will also include my reference notebook (pictured) with lots of Berkeley research data and the previous builders construction notes. I also have some additional Honda CX500 motorcycle parts that go along with the car. Any additional BERKELEY bits like grill. door hinges and headlights can be purchased from Kip Motors. And speaking of pieces. I forgot to mention that the fiberglass rear hatch is from an actual Berkeley. WHY I'M SELLINGI've decided to sell this project for the simple fact that I had 3. 5 years to move it along and I haven't done it. I have had lots of interest from potential buyers after my first auction closed and I have tried to answer any additional questions. I have added a photo of me in the car. I am 6' tall and weigh 210 lbs and I fit in the car. This project is sold with a bill of sale only as it is an unfinished project and I will include the bill of sale that I received as well. The Honda CX500 is complete and turns over freely but I never started it so please assume it will need freshening. Due to my non-paying bidder I am also re-listing this car for sale locally. thus I reserve the right to end this auction early if a local buyer appears. If this auctions makes the reserve amount I WILL NOT end the auction early. You can't build this project for 3 times the reserve price. Thanks to everyone for your interest!A WORD ABOUT SHIPPINGThis BERKELEY is very small and very lightweight. I would suggest picking up this car in person and not using a commercial shipper due to the fact it would be easily damaged. I can also help with shipping within a 500 mile radius of my home at $1. 00 per loaded mile.
