Listing My 1970 MB 250CE ("C" =coupe "E"=electric fuel injection)This Combination is rare even in Europe These days. Brought to US in 1992 from Scotland. What makes this care special??? This was the first MB model to offer electric fuel injection (BOSCH D-jet) (not mechanical). Option not avail in US. US got carburated versions in the 250C only.Add to that, it has the factory electric sunroof and a 4-speed on the floor manual trans for sportiness. I've only come across one other in the us for sale (asking $38,000)to get a comp in value in the years that Ive owned this one. I'm not delusional, I know that's an unrealistic asking price and this car is not as nice as that one to boot. However, it is what it is... In decentdrivableshape, rare and very cool. Less that 1% of all w114were this combo. Although I enjoy driving it on special days I'm aware the car is due for and quite worthy of restoration. In my opinion, the only 250 coupe worthy of a proper restoration is this Euroversion, in the current market anyway. With the windows down and the top open you really get the feel of an open carthanks to thepeerless design. Other than the PO's aftermarket dash mounted tachometer and the fender mirrors, the car is bone stock. My original plan for the car was to enjoy it and drive it while I gathered all the partsnecessary for the full restoration. So far so good with my plan, but now I'm considering notpersonally going down that road. I have accumulatedmost of the bits that will be needed in therestoration and will sell as a package to the right buyer. The car has typical but notcatastrophic sheet metal rot in the front floorboards, rockers, lower rearquarters, and headlight area. Again, I have all thatreplacement OEM and German steel for the job ready to go. In addition, I have atruly rust free 72 250C (shown in last pics) complete donor car from California I shipped out this past summer to NJ. OEMsteel is alway the best quality and fitment. It has a clear title but is currently non-running. I have clean clear titles for both cars and I'm willing to sell as apackage or separate the two cars. (pricenegotiable for both cars together) Thislisting if for the blue car only. Theleftover redundant parts have a significant value to offset the cost of therestoration. That was/is my thought process anyway with the donor car.I'm happy to share details with interested parties. Just ask. I could ramble on about this car for ever but I'll spare you. Thanks for your interest.Serious inquiries only please. Time is precious- yours and mine.
