Eye candy for sale! After 39 years I am finding a new home formy 1964 Studebaker GT Hawk! I chased the previous owner; a long time Denver Studey collector, for a year. And then bought itin April 1979!
You will love owning this rare car! One of only 1767 made for the last year of Hawk production. This is quite the looker, not just for the style, but the quality of the rebuild.
It was used as a daily driver for a few years and then restored from '87 to '91. It is lightly modified and uses all Studebaker components. It hasbeen gettingupgraded eversince.Originally paintedAstra White, I changed it to a modern paint with clear coat that very closely matches the1964 Studebaker Golden Sand color. All of the body was sand blasted, and new metal welded in where rusted. There is no rust on this Hawk!
ThisGT came Factory Optioned with:Air Conditioning,3 Speed Overdrive,Radio, Climatizer, Tach, Clock, and Electric Winshield Sprayer, and Front Seat Belts, & Front Bumper Guards, Black Vinyl Interior, and an Electric Wiper Sprayer.
The Carpets were replaced withcorrect Stude style loop carpetwith the proper patterns sewn in and new padding. I also replaced the Cowl insulation piece with a remanufactured jute backing piece. The Headliner was replaced and has the correct dot pattern, but does not have the original Elk Grain texture, which is barely noticeable.
TheBolster Material on both front seats was replaced later with correct material. The Center Console is invery nice original condition. The rest of the Black Interior Material is original. The entire Back Seatis original with minor imperfections. All of the Body Rubber seals were replaced.
When restored,it received aNOS Steering Gear with new seals. The Front End was rebuilt with NOS King Pins and Bearings, and all of the SuspensionBushings were replaced. The Center Pin was replaced with a rebuilt earlier styleBearing type Housing. The old Tie Rods were good and still are.
It has the following upgrades added: New Tinted Front & Rear Windshields with recentnew gaskets, new clear side glass cut, andthe correct 'bugs' or 'glass logos' etched in that look like the factory glass.
Also added is the optional Factory Rear Anti Sway Bar with New Bushings, which greatly improves the handling. Also a correct Studebaker Power Steering setup was installed,andNOSH.D.Rear Leaf Springs with recent new bushings.
It is lightly modified: with arebuilt 1963 Studebaker 259 V-8 which was transplanted earlier in its life, and a matching 19633 Speed OD Transmission, anda rebuilt Delco Distributer (Window Type)that was used on earlier Studes as well as a WCFB 4bbl Carb.Andthe Starter, Alternator, and Distributor were all rebuilt.
The Rear Axle is a 3.73 Twin Traction with recently replacedfluid, and the proper Traction Additive Lubricant and a new Pumpkin Seal and new PinionSpeedy Sleeve and Seal.
The Frame is inexcellent shape, and I recently replaced the largeCrossmember with one that is excellent and verythoroughlypainted.
All of the Stainless has been restored and buffed, except the 1/4 window surround. The Roof Moulding Stainless is NOS. The Bumpers and Guards are Rechromed.
Also it was upgraded with a NOS Heater Fan Motor, and a NOSWiper Motor.
Also recently: a rebuilt Carburetor, a New Fuel Pump& Filter, New Water Pump, and a New Air Filter. Missing 1 horn.
There is a very recent 4 wheel Brake job withNew Brake Cylinders, RelinedShoes, and cleaned and painted Hardware, and the Finned Brake Drums areexcellent. I also recently rebuilt thePower Steering Control Valve, and replaced therubber Shaft Seal on Steering Gear, and put fresh Studebaker Steering Gear Lubricant in.
The Drive Shaft recently got a New Input Shaft & forward U-Joints.
Also I just installed 4 New Power Steering Hoses.
The T86 3sp OD Tranny was recentlyrebuiltwith new Seals & Gaskets, and runs great, with a little leak at the front.
What a great car ! You're going to love your new '64 GT!

On Jul-22-18 at 22:16:38 PDT, seller added the following information:I wanted to add that the Steering Wheel is also NOS and was very recently added. The Shift Collar, Shift Tube, and Shift Rings were all replaced with NOS parts as well. The Passenger Seat has the original Factory Recliner, the Driver Seat did not come with one, but one can be added. Someone asked about the Paint. It has clearcoat and is extremely smooth; micro fiber towels fall off. I clay bar cleaned, buffed, and waxed it a few years ago and have always kept it covered in side. It has been kept inside since 1987 except on road trips. I waxed it again recently, and it is silky smooth. There are only a few minor imperfections in the paint, and one small 3/8" ding on the left front Side Grill and all can be touched up. It has only been driven about 14,000 miles since the restoration. Drivability is very good. The car has good acceleration and handles well, and the brakes are new. The Transmission shifts well and you can go between Conventional and Overdrive easily. It has new Cooper 205 75 15 inch Radials with less than 500 miles on them. I had a local tire dealer and car guy get them all made in the same week. The Spare Tire is old and should be replaced, and there is no included Bumper Jack with the car. There is a new reprinted Owners Manual.
On Jul-22-18 at 22:20:19 PDT, seller added the following information:I forgot to mention that the Air Conditioner system is all there, but I never ever charged it up the entire time I owned it, so you are not getting cool air.
