AS MY HEALTH HAS TAKEN A TURN THE WRONG DIRECTION I HAVE DECIDED TO SELL MY PROJECT CARS. THIS IS A 1974 BRICKLIN SV1. IT WAS THE 158th CAR BUILT IN 1974. IT IS EQUIPPED WITH THE AMC DRIVELINE. ITS HAS THE 360 V8 THAT WAS USED IN THE AMX AND THE JAVALIN SST. IT'S A HOT ROD, FAST AND POWERFUL MOTOR. THIS MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION WAS ONLY AVAILABLE IN 1974. IN 1975 BRICKLIN USED FORD DRIVETRAIN COMPONENTS. IT SHOWS 23,103 MILES ON THE ODOMETER, WHICH I BELIEVE IS TRUE MILEAGE AS I GOT IT FROM AN OWNER IN CALIFORNIA WHO HAD IT STORED FOR YEARS. IT STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL GOODRICH RADIAL T/A TIRES ON IT. THE INTERIOR WAS REDONE 3 YEARS AGO. IT HAS NEW SEAT COVERS, NEW CARPET, AND A NEW DASH COVER. IT WAS DRIVE ABLE TILL 3 YEARS WHEN I NOTICED THE BRAKES GETTING SPONGY. AFTER THE UPHOLSTERY WAS COMPLETE I HAD FULL INTENTIONS OF FIXING THE BRAKES, BUT IT DIDN'T GET COMPLETED. I HAVE THE $350 KIT THAT WILL CONVERT THE OLD PNEUMATIC VACUUM PUMP TO A NEW SET UP WITH AN ELECTRIC OPERATED AIR PUMP. THIS WILL OPERATE THE DOORS AND HIDE AWAY HEAD LIGHTS WITHOUT WAITING FOR VACUUM PRESSURE TO BUILD. THIS KIT WAS DEVELOPED BY ONE OF THE ENGINEERS THAT WORKED FOR BRICKLIN. AS I MENTIONED BEFORE, IT NEEDS WORK. IT WILL RUN A DRIVE BUT HAS BEEN PARKED FOR OVER 3 YEARS. THE CARBURETOR WILL NEED TO BE REBUILT. I BELIEVE THE FLOAT IS STUCK. YOU NEED TO DRIBBLE GAS INTO THE CARBURETOR TO GET IT TO START, THEN IT RUNS FINE. HOWEVER WHEN YOU SHUT IT OFF YOU NEED TO DRIBBLE GAS AGAIN FOR IT TO START. THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION ARE STRONG. POWER STEERING IS GOOD. AC WILL NEED SERVICE. REAR BRAKE WHEEL CYLINDERS SHOULD BE REPLACED. (USE 1974 AMC PARTS) INSTALL THE NEW ELECTRIC AIR PUMP KIT. HOOK UP THE SPEEDOMETER CABLE. (THE UPHOLSTERY SHOP INFORMED ME THEY FORGOT TO ATTACH THE CABLE WHEN THEY HAD THE DASH PAD OUT FOR RECOVERING. IT WAS NOT DRIVEN AFTER THE UPHOLSTERY WAS COMPLETED). THE BODY WILL NEED ATTENTION TOO. I WOULD GET THE NEW DOOR SKINS, AND THE NEW HATCHBACK SKIN, FROM TERRY TANNER 540- 586-9761. HE WORKED FOR BRICKLIN AND HAS THE MOLDS FOR ALL THE BODY PARTS. ** THERE WERE ONLY ABOUT 2700+ OF THESE CARS BUILT FROM 1974 TILL 1976 WHEN BRICKLIN WENT BANKRUPT. THIS BRICKLIN IS A RARE CAR AND A BLAST TO DRIVE !! IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ARRANGE FOR TRANSPORT, OR YOU CAN PICK IT UP AT MY HOME. THIS IS AN OLD CAR FOR RESTORATION OR FOR PARTS.
