Car description

This vehicle is a project car. I purchased this car about 12 years ago from the widow of the previous owner, the car is still as I purchased it. The previous owner had got well under way to a major restoration, efore he passed away. The body was removed from the frame. The body was turned on it's side in his basement garage and all rusted metalwas replaced with new metal or repaired. Any body damage was repaired and the body was then painted in primer. All components of the body were given the same treatment, xample; doors, enders, ood etc. All the small loose metal parts from around the body and underneath the hood were repainted, lack The Instrument Panel, auges, nterior parts have not been repaired or restored, he gauges are not in too good of shape, aces are not readable. The sale includes the original seats, nner door panels, rim, andles, indow framesand most other interior parts, none of this has been repaired or restored. I think most of the body small parts are here, ncluding door handles, ocks, inges and that sort of stuff. Most glass is included for patterns, owever, t is mostly broken. The body did not sit outside after restored, ntil about 2 years ago, hen I ran out of indoor storage.

The frame and chassis was rebuilt and painted, do not know if the rear axle assembly and transmission were rebuilt / repaired or not. The wheels were repainted and new tires installed, owever, he Tires are now Weather checked, hey do hold air and have for the 12 years I have owned it. I do not consider them road worthy.

The engine was replaced with a 1949; 262 cu. in. model 492 engine. I was told it was completely rebuilt, nstalled in the chassis and the chassis was running. It did have temporary water hoses connected so it could be run. HOWEVER: The Engine, ransmission, r Clutch is now locked up. The completed chassis set outside with a plastic cover for about 5 years, efore I got it. I have taken the cylinder head off, nd there is minor cylinder rust, owever, do not believe it is to the extent of locking up the engine. So I do not know what is wrong,, I Suspect the Wet Clutch Disc, s stuck to the flywheel. I have so many projects that my age and health will never allow me to get involved in this car. I should have sold it long ago.

Some of the chrome plating has already been done. The bumpers, umper guards, couple of chrome grille moldings, ood ornament, ail lights, lthough this was done about 15 years ago and is not 100% chrome quality like we expect today. The headlight doors have also been re-chromed, owever, he chrome shop ground out most of the detail and I would consider them junk.

More facts. It has a clear Indiana Title in my name. When I bought it the widow had lost the title and she had to apply for a new one. When she had it inspected, pparently the police officer got the part of the serial number 477 as the model number, nyhow the model shown on the title is 477 and there is no such thing as a model 477. The actual model is a 172. This is the first 3 digits of the complete serial number 172 47721. The serial number plate is still on the door post and does not appear to ever have been altered. I do not wish to get in a hassle with the Indiana BMV to try and get it corrected, ince now everything is done by computer and for a car this old, hat kind of stuff is not in the computer system. (I have tried to make changes on a Chevy truckand finally gave up). If it is necessary to try and get that corrected, will just keep the car.

The photo#8of the back of an old Chevy pickup with a bed cover, s all parts I got with this car.I would guess it is about 95% or better complete, owever, here is no Guarantee that it is fully complete and everything to put it together is included. Itdoes include what I think is a radiator for the car.Anyduplicate Hudson part Imay have, ay or may Not be Included With This Sale, ut I will included the best quality of any part I have.

Any Questions you may have, lease call me at 765 289 2386, r 765 744 9065. After 6 AM EDT or Before 9 PM EDT.

If you do not wish to restore the car as a 47 Hudson original car,it would make an excellent Hot Rod, r Custom Car.
