Opel GT 1973

This is a really, really nice Opel GT up for adoption. It has been de-rusted, painted, new front brake pads, rear wheel cylinders and rebuilt brake master cylinder.New driveshaft bearing and doughnut.The battery has been moved to behind the seats to improve weight distribution. Carb was changed to a Webber at some point. Engine not original to car, has excellent compression numbers and is smooth with good power. Clutch, gearbox and brakes are faultless. This car is a pleasure to drive.Tires brand new. Dashboard covered in black vinyl.A few small seams, but looks very good. Carpets and upholstery very good. All you need to do is turn the key and go.

Problems: odometer reads 85,000, but speedo cable was broken when I got it so don't know the actual mileage, but the compression is excellent and the drive train is smooth as butter. There are 2 small curved scratches passenger side windshield apparently from wiper arm (see photo... more obvious in picture than on the car). The dash clock works, but doesn't keep accurate time. Occasional slight dieseling at shut off.

Reserve is, I think, realistic considering the condition of the car. I'm happy to keep it for a while and continue driving it.
