Amundsen Of Hemet, CA in April 1966, and issued the California SLA 759 License plates we see on the car to this day! Numerous old registration slips document the ownership, including the very first one in 1966!

.

Here's the first registration slip as a brand new car.

.

If that isn't loaded with options I'll eat a bug, just like legendary car dealer Cal Worthington in his old TV commercials! . The original condition is astonishingly nice! This car has been to a number of concours events in preservation class, including the Palos Verdes Concours and the Benedict Castle concours. . Amazingly good, especially considering it's the actual original paint! After the original owners, who were from Hemet, CA, parted with the Toronado Deluxe in 1984, Mike Comer, a long time Oldsmobile Club member and prolific Oldsmobile collector purchased it. He owned it until his passing in 2014, when the third owner purchased it. . Here's a good look at the 15" Chrome wheels that were part of the Deluxe package. They also had trim rings. . To have been preserved in this condition for this long is nothing short of amazing! It's a tribute to Mike Comer's vision when he bought a then 18 year old car, recognized it's state of originality and high equipment content, and made the effort to keep the car in it's original state and in excellent operating condition. . The Deluxe Steering wheel was part of the Toronado magic, and this one is a tilt-telescope option too! And it's in spectacularly nice shape, without cracks or faults! It reminds me of the butterfly steering wheels on the Top Fuel dragsters of the same era! . Here's a great view of the original Strato-Bench seat, with folding armrest. in AWESOME original condition. The whole interior is original and beautiful, but the carpet was properly replaced at some point, with the correct loop carpeting. The power seat isn't working properly. . Here is the beautiful doorpanel, note the front and rear doorhandles, and the excellent condition of the door edge, and the working safety lamps at the rear of the door. . Beautiful rear seat, with room for 3 people! . A good view of the Bi-Phonic Rear Radio speaker. Did Don Draper work for Oldsmobile's product naming committee? . That dashboard is a perfect original. No cracks, looks like new! Also note the A/C and Heater vent - the A/C on this car is nice and cold! . The only visibly not original thing on the car is this stereo hidden in a cupholder, as well as a CD changer mounted in the trunk. . The Original AM/FM radio works nicely! . Excellent original visors, and the "Glareproof" rearview mirror . Here's the original 425 Cubic inch Rocket V8, with 385 Horsepower! A close look shows the AIR injection pipes going into the cylinder heads. That emissions system was for California cars only. . Well kept and well maintained. . The AC compressor was rebuilt not too long ago, and the AC works great! . Another view of the AIR injector pipes and fittings, right next to the spark plugs . The paint is original, and has been kept really well, but it isn't new anymore - there are some areas such as the lower quarter panel that are sort of worn through from road debris. The hood and roof are not as shiny as original, they're a bit duller than they could be. I look at it as a badge of honor for a well preserved car! I also think the left front fender has been refinished on the vertical portion. . Spare, jack, and original trunk matting! The CD changer can be seen to the left. . Nice inner trunk lid . Here's the trim tag. SS Paint code is "Champagne Mist" . Working hidden headlights are important on Toronados, and these work great! And, all four headlamps are T-3's, likely the original headlights. . A great looking wonderfully preserved and fully equipped front wheel drive first year Toronado!

.

Lost of great factory literature is included too, - how about the Toronado vynil record with the psychadelic jacket!
