1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Coupe. 455 V8 Gasoline Engine. Automatic Transmission. RWD. **New Engine / 200 Miles On New Motor / New Transmission **All Original PaperworkThis car is an amazing find and truly one of a kind. Factory A/C & power disc brakes. The Cutlass was purchased new in Fremont California in 1972. Shortly after the original owner brought it home he added an OEM W-25 ram air hood. He also added the 442 OEM rear bumper w/ exhaust cut-outs. After driving the car for only a few years the car was stored in a warehouse, where it remained for approximately 35 years. When the car was found and purchased from the original owner's estate, the original 455 engine and turbo 400 transmission were gone and the tires were dry rotted off the car. In 2014, I purchased the car and had it transported from Arizona to Massachusetts, where I completed the following selective restoration with no expense spared. The Cutlass body is completely 100% original and rust-free. The trunk and the floors both inside and out look like they just came from the factory! Replaced the rubber body mount bushings and reproduction 1971 442 front grilles and 1971 NOS taillight lenses. The 442 emblems that replace the cutlass emblems are mounted with 3M tape over the existing Cutlass emblems holes, no new holes were drilled. The entire Cutlass factory suspension has been replaced with USA made Performance components and includes: UMI Performance tubular front upper and lower control arms with Delrin & polygraphite bushings, UMI Performance boxed rear lower control arms with roto-joints & adjustable upper control arms with roto-joints & polygraphite bushings, plus adjustable frame stiffeners. Moog coil springs & Monroe shocks were added all around. Upgraded 1" rear sway bar. All steering components and linkage were replaced with Moog parts. Due to the low vacuum from the high lift camshaft, the power brake booster was replaced with a new hydro-boost unit that runs off the power steering pump. The engine is a 1970 Olds 455 F1 block bored .030 w/ a balanced rotating assembly, BHJ harmonic balancer and includes: Icon forged 10.5:1 compression pistons, Hastings Moly rings, Eagle forged steel H-beam connecting rod, Clevite 77 bearings, Edelbrock Air Gap RPM aluminum intake manifold, Comp Cams XR290HR high duration hydraulic roller camshaft, Morel hydraulic roller lifters, Smith Brothers pushrods, Rolmaster double roller timing chain, Harland Sharp 1.6:1 roller rocker arms, Melling high volume oil pump, Holley 4150 double pumper 650CFM carburetor w/ K&N X-steam air filter. The ignition consists of an MSD Pro-billet distributor, high vibration MSD Blaster coil & MSD-AL box.The transmission was pulled out and 200 R was installed, which gives the car an overdrive, so it rides nice. Original 400 still available with car. The rear differential is a rebuilt Olds 'O' 12 bolt from a California car with the original brake drums and includes a new Eaton positraction unit with Richmond 3:46 ring & pinion, new bearings & seals, W-27 aluminum cover. The original one piece drive shaft has a new heavy duty Moog U joint installed, new rear wheel cylinder brake shoes and front disc brake pads. The dual exhaust system includes ram air reproduction Olds W/Z high performance, high flow cast exhaust manifolds w/ true 2 ½' collectors, 2 ½' aluminized pipe w/equalizer tub, Dynomax Ultraflow turbo mufflers and Pipes 2 ½' polished stainless steel trumpets. The wheels and tires include: American racing 200S polished aluminum wheels, 15" x 10" rear and 15" x 7" front w/ B.F. Goodrich Radial Tires, P275/60R15 rear and P225/70R15 front w/ McGard Tough Nutts lifetime lug nuts. Radial tire mounted on a factory Olds SSIII 15" x 7" chrome rally wheel w/ a new chrome center cap. Have the 4 factory Olds SSIII 15" x 7" rally wheels also. The interior is mostly original, the dash console door panels, headliner, Grant Steering wheel, Tic-Tac gauge package, rear package tray and even the carpet all original. The car is 45 years old and does have some minor imperfections. There are a couple very minor nicks/scratches in the paint and some very minor pitting on the original chrome bumpers. With that said, whoever buys this car will not be disappointed. This car performs, handles and runs awesome, it can be driven anywhere. Most of the original parts that I replaced are available and are included with the purchase of the car. I have the original protect-o-plate, owner's manual, old registrations from the original owner and a copy of the California title documenting the mileage, as well as a clear MA title. I planned on keeping this for a very long time, but life brings many unforeseen circumstances and now I find myself selling this beautiful car.
