Car description |
---|
Reluctantly, I am offering this car for sale. I have been it's caretaker for almost 30 years. It is a 1960 Oldsmobile, Dynamic 88, Fiesta wagon. This is a very rare car (low production numbers and few survivors). It has the original Rocket engine and Jetaway transmission, both rebuilt in specialty shops. The engine compartment is painted gloss black and nicely detailed. The front end has been rebuilt and powdercoated gloss black.
I have taken great care to preserve the patina of the original gold paint. The gloss paint below the body midline is recent, while the black paint on the roof is getting a bit tired... fender skirts arenos Foxcraft. The crest of the hood has been pinstriped by Christian Blackman. The wheels arepowder coated red and wrapped in Coker radials. The hubcaps are from a '61 Olds Starfire, but I have the original dog dish caps. For protection it comes with a custom "California Car Cover". I have documents form the original new car sale and a shop manual.
This car is not perfect and needs to be taken to the next level. The interior needs a lot of love. The windshield is cracked, but they are readily available. It needs a windshield wiper motor and the original ac unit needs to be recharged. There are other minor things that need to be taken care of. I am uncertain of the total mileage due to a nonfunctioningodometer, speedometer works great... needle changes color at different speeds.
I have created a couple of art prints inspired by the wagon, to capture the vibe theoriginal adventure, utility vehicle.
This is car drives very well and attracts much attention wherever it goes.
