Car description |

1983 OLDSMOBILE NINETY EIGHT REGENCY COUPE....just a super nice quality driver. I purchased this Olds in December of 2006 at which time it had just under 30K miles. It is essentially an original car/TIME CAPSULE!
The only modification to the car is an "Edlebrock Olds Performer 350" intake from Mondellos. I have the original cast iron intake and it goes with the car if you care to take it. After installing the aluminum intake the car's highway MPG increased by near nearly 4 MPG. (18 mpg all purpose/ as high as 24 mpg-freeway).
This is a 34 year old car so the paint does have sundry chips here and there but no areas of clear coat failure that I have been able to see (garage kept-fair weather driven only). It was polished/waxed this past fall. The interior is has very few flaws (dash, steering wheel and simulated wood grain are in excellent condition)--headliner was replaced for sagging some years ago. There is one very slight crack in the driver's door armrest (typical failure--see photo). The 2010 picture of this crack is representative of its current appearance--it has not progressed/worsened.
The first twelve pictures you see were taken on 3/3/17 while the remaining 8 photos were taken in 2010. I can't discern any perceptible change in the vehicle's condition between 2010 and 2017.
The only item that never has worked is the rear defog. To the best of my knowledge everything else works as it should including the A/C (I know it works!). I am 52, retired USAF and have too many cars. If you want a nice piece of GM history this is a spectacular Oldsmobile.
ALSO, you can buy my Olds for far less than so many of these dealers you see on EBAY! The prices seem super high to me....please consider my Olds 98 before buying theirs....I am not a professional picture-taker but I can tell you this is a VERY NICE OLDS 98!
PAYMENT/SHIPPING:I request a $200.00 deposit; if you determine for any reason you are not happy with this car at the point of sale/change of ownership I will release you from your purchase commitmentand refund all of your deposit monies. My goal is that you bid & buy with confidence and I understand that can be uncomfortable via the internet.
The vehicle is available for inspection in southwestern Ohio (Dayton area) by appointment- for sale locally. Some delivery options may be available for additional fees if you need me to help deliver the car. Thanks for looking at my 1983 OLDSMOBILE 98 REGENCY COUPE!Kevin (970) 980-6278 cell.
NOTE: I received a question regarding the Edlebrock aluminum intake: only the intake manifold was replaced. The car still has its original "GM Feedback" carb and distributor. The transmission gets a signal from the carb and if you replace the carb with a non OE-GM (non-smart carb) unit then other modifications will be required as you will lose overdrive and have a constant "Check Engine" light on the annunciator panel. I left well enough alone and ONLY replaced the intake manifold; the car runs great--"No drips, No runs, No Errors" (just a bit of humor there!)
