It is a 1970 Olds 98 Convertible, rare bird. Have you ever seen one? It's lightly resto-modded, ith quality work. This car had a full re-do by professionals in 2011, aint, nterior, echanicals. Since then, t has only done about 2000 miles. It is quite a car.Highlights/Details:This is a Southern car that appears to have lived in TN most of its life. That is where it was sold new on 10-31.1969 (take a look at the original registration). I don't see any evidence of any rust anywhere. It appears to have been dissambled before paint, nd the quality of the paint is extremely good (more below). It's neatest feature is the late model 5.3 Vortec GM engine. When installed, t had about 30k miles on it, nd has only been about 2000 miles since the conversion. Note the custom painted valve covers and a substantial amount of Street/Performance polished/chromed trim and accessories. It also has Corvette exhaust manifolds and nicely done Flowmaster mufflers all the way back with chrome tips. It sounds fantastic and starts with just a touch of the key. It is mated to a 4L60 GM automatic transmission with overdirve. It works nicely with no glitches. While you're looking under the hood, otice the HUGE Griifith performance radiator and the Giant cooling fan. It has a late model Chevy water pump as well, o there are no cooling issues. It also has a late model fuel tank from a 99 Impala SS, ith an electric fuel pump for reliablity. The OBD II system is intact for diagnosis or further tuning. The engine compartment is nice and clean, nd has been properly cleaned up and trimmed out in black semigloss paint performance paint. The interior is also super nice. Note the high quality job on the leather upholstery, nd the seat frames are nice and tight along with the seat pads. It still has the original Delco radio in the dash, nd NO big boom boxes or hi-fi anywhere. Take a look at the rear speaker grill. The door cards are excellent, he carpet has been replaced as well. Take a look at the dash and instruments. They have been replaced with hot-rod style gauges from AutoMeter, ice and clean. The original dash cluster and clock are in the trunk. It has electric windows, eats, ocking, nd a power top, nd they all work. It has a Grant wooden steering wheel, nd a GM tilt and telescope column. The top has a black liner and is beige to match the interior. It looks good and fits well. The tonneau was recovered in the same beige color.Body is excellent. Shut lines are great. The paint has been color sanded top to bottom and texture is excellent. Chrome bumpers have been re-done and look excellent. Wheels are 18" Foose 5 spokes, ith nearly new BFG tires. The suspension in this car feels great and tight--it doesn't crash over bumps and the 18" wheels let you enjoy it without worrying about every pothole. The trunk has a full size spare. The only thing I see missing is the original trunk mat. I'm looking for one and will replace it as soon as I find one. I have lots of neat lille goodies as pictured, ncluding the original GM owner's book, ven the original receipt for the resitration too. This is a unique big GM convertible. I have looked deep and wide, nd found VERY few Olds 98 convervitibles of any description for sale. This is not some junk that a guy put together in the back yard. I have tens of thousands of dollars of receipts, nd of course, hat's for the re-do and the parts--you've still got to find a nice car to put them on! Note the appraisal from from Corvette Country at $28500. Out price is well bleow that, nd you certainly could not come close to building one this nice, ith this engine conversion, t our price. This is a great looking drop top, nd sensible enough to enjoy and have fun with. And I can just about guarantee you won't run into another one at the Cruise In!SHAUN706-536-4114
