Car description

Second owner- present family owned since 1964 and garaged since then - a Texas car since new. I have some license receipts since 1964 and even have the original "King Dick" jack and ignition key! The car starts easily, runs great; clutch and gearbox work fine - all it needs is a paint job and a carpet refresh. Body is straight with no rust. The deep chrome trim and hubcaps are bright and shiny. Windshield is excellent. This is the front disc brake model, quite a rarity on any car in 1960.

Excellent, low mileage tires. The odometer broke in the mid-1980's at 39,987. The car has been driven less than 2,000 miles since then, so the eBay "odometer" field is an estimate at 42,000.

Car was fully restored in 1981 with new leather seats, convertible top, steering wheel and side curtains (all from Moss Motors). The car had a valve job at this time and was painted in the original English Ivory color. Over time, the beautiful paint cracked and peeled. There is no body damage and very little surface rust in areas where the paint came off (no cancerous rust anywhere). The convertible top is in good condition with a small tear over the right rear bow.

The car uses a 12 volt (positive ground) battery but could be easily converted back to the original 2 six-volt cells. The oil filter has been updated with a Moss Motors "spin-on" adapter that uses modern filters. The original oil filter canister is included with the car. Original wooden floorboards are in great condition. The carpet has some wear on the some of the door sills/edges (see interior photo).

Fun, spirited little sports car that has never been abused or modified. Rare to find one complete with the original engine, drivetrain and chrome AND only owned by 2 families.

Work and new items completed in 2019:
Master cylinder Front and rear brakes and front brake linesClutch slave cylinder and lines
Battery
Fuel pump and fuel lines (SU original-type pump)
K&N air filters
Heavy duty floor mats with "MG" logo
Distributor cap
Spark plugs and wires
Oil and filter change
The car comes with two service manuals: the original MG binder from the factory and a Haynes; the original side curtains (plexiglass is broken but could be replaced); new front suspension bushing kit from Moss (not installed) and many older parts.
The car is also listed for sale locally and is located in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area. I welcome personal inspections, contact me for an appointment.
