Car description |

A beautiful top quality MGB......which underwent a thorough, complete chrome bumper conversion.
Later MGBs had their virtues...better build quality, electronic ignition, thermostatically controlled radiator fans, front and rear sway bars, bigger gauges, better controls, stronger heaters, on and on. BUT suffered from three minor deficiencies....ugly, gutless, and ill handling.
This car combines the best of early and later cars.....no longer ugly with proper chrome bumpers and grille. No longer gutless with twin SU carbs. And no longer ill handling with ride height lowered to pre 1975 height and even a thicker rear sway bar fitted along with tube shocks.
As for the rest...excellent engine with perfect compression and oil pressure, zero smoke cold or hot, improved manifolds, excellent working overdrive offering five forward gears, power assisted disc brakes, front cross drilled, slotted rotors, new radial tires on wire wheels, new muffler, tight front end, all new splined hubs, painted and detailed engine bay, and.........
Beautiful paint, mostly new chrome, new premium convertible top, working power windows, Pontiac Fiero reclining seats with special leather coverings and the MGB logo, new carpets, wood steering wheel, honey teak wood dash and console covering, modern stereo/CD with USB input. A great car to take to shows.
AND....electronic ignition (new, better than the factory style), premium convertible top, carpeted trunk and spare wheel cover, new jack and knock off hammer, power assist disc brakes, excellent wiring harness, all gauges work properly, starts instantly, runs perfectly, drives far better than when new. AND (of course) looks a LOT better than the day it left the factory.
These later cars can really be used as an alternative to a contemporary car and yes, we can install air conditioning, offer a hardtop, make this car really usable all year 'round. With its modern fuel delivery, ignition, cooling, electrical system, offers a car with far more reliability than earlier MGs.
Ride is better than most newer cars, steering, handling, and braking are all first rate and in overdrive, easily cruises at 70, 80, even 90 mph. Is really a wonderful compromise between older and newer sports. Reasons, I guess, that MGB replicas are being built in England (using stock body shells) and selling for over $125,000!
A rare opportunity to purchase a really special MGB. Now, this car is advertised in other mediums and is available for immediate sale, hence reserving the right to end this auction at any time and for any reason. IF you have any questions, please call me at my office at 203-377-6746
