Car description

1959 MGA
113,250 miles Have a clear, regular title.
Original engine, trans, rear end.
Body disassembled and stripped to bare metal about 15 years ago. This revealed no rust, dents, Bondo or repairs of any kind. The original piping was re-used. The car has absolutely no signs of ever having had even the slightest body work done and has no rust now.
All the wood is in perfect shape.
All suspension wear parts have been replaced.
The carburetors were just rebuilt, along with a tune up, new windshield, shocks and general maint by Alistair at The MG Centre in Boynton Beach.
The new fuel pump is an SU electric and makes the proper ticking noises.
Many more new parts as they were needed.
Currently sitting on new tires and bolt-on wire wheels, I have the original disc wheels. I also have windows and the original lug wrench and starting crank!
Has a black tonneau cover and tan convertible top.
The interior was hand-stitched from matching hides, and the carpets and cockpit are trimmed in the same leather. No kits were used for seats, doors or carpets, it's all hand-crafted.
I have had this car for about 20+ years and I can tell you - this is "The Good One". It can be driven at night, in the rain, and the horn, lights and blinkers will all work.
Have all receipts since I got the car.
As far as I can tell, the motor and trans have not been rebuilt. Compression is good. Oil consumption is non-existent, never needs adding. Changed every 3k or less.
No unusual noises.
I put about 3k miles a year and have no worries about taking it out. The engine revs freely, sounds great (stainless exhaust system), no smoke, very few drips. Garaged since I got it, and judging by the condition of the wood and chassis, probably garaged prior. No rust to be concerned about anywhere.
The luggage rack may clean up or be rechromed. It's good and solid.
I'm selling it because I've had it since 1998 and am using it less and less. I'm also losing my garage for a while due to a home remodel taking up a lot of space. I'd rather not keep it outside under cover.
The condition and originality of this car is far better than most, but it's a driver, not a show car.
I just noticed one photo of the driver side door - this not misaligned, the door is just not shut. All the body gaps are very, very uniform.
