Car description

Up for sale is a very nice 1980 MGB LE (Limited Edition).
These Limited Editions were the end oftheline for thefabulousMG marque. As MG was planning to withdraw fromtheU.S. market back in 1980, they decided to go out with a bang, and designedtheLimited Edition model. The Limited Editions came with special black paint and LE silver striping, special LE alloy wheels, a special LE leather wrapped steering wheel, a lower front air dam unique only to the LE's, an LE dash plaque and a specialLimitedEdition key fob.
This is a beautiful example of the MGB Limited Edition. Very solid and rust free. Very original. Great running and driving car. Starts right up every time, even after long periods of storage. Very nice high end driver quality car. Original engine and transmission, in good condition.
  • The engine runs very smooth with no unusual noises. Holds good oil pressure. No knocks or rattles. Engine has good power and can be easily driven at highway speeds. The engine is not oily and does not have any significant leaks. The carburation has been upgraded to a Weber DGV down draftcarburetor. Car runs very cool...never overheats, never runs warm. Very dependable.
  • The 4 speed manual transmission shifts out very smoothly. No grinding. Clutch feels very good with noslippage. Shifts very easy. Transmission is nice and quite.
  • The body is very solid, with no rust through or rot. This is a very solid example that has spent it's entire life inthedry, warm South. The paint has a great shine. The car actually looks like new from 5 feet away, (although minor imperfections can be seen under closer inspection, as can be expected for a driver quality 36 year old sports car. Small paint chips, minor dings and touch ups can be seen under very close inspection. Please see last photo for example). But the car looks much nicer than most unrestored cars. Verypresentable. Perfect for local car shows, cruise-ins or just to simply enjoy on long weekend drives. Not aconcours $20K restored car...but a great example of an affordable British Classic.
  • Allelectrical components work. All lights workcorrectly; Dash lights, headlights high and low beams, turnsignals, emergency flashers, side marker lights, taillights and brake lights all work correctly. Allgaugesworkcorrectly; speedometer, tachometer, tempgauge, oil pressure gauge, gas gauge and even the clock all works correctly. Clock keeps correct time. Heater and heater blower works correctly. Windshield wipers work correctly. All electrical works well.
  • The interior of this MGB LE is very nice. Nice seats with NO rips or tears. Seats looks almost new. Upper door caps looks great. Dash looks very nice. Glove box opens and closes well and has the keys. Door panels look very nice. Steering wheel looks like new with perfect leather wrap.
  • The wheel and tires look very nice. Original LE alloy wheels..including the spare inthetrunk. The MGB rides on newtires.Tires run out nice with no shakes, bumps or shimmy.
  • The trunk is solid with no rust in the floor. Has the original LE spare tire and also has the original full tonneau cover. Also has the original Alabama 1980 license plate tag in the trunk. Comes with keys for the trunk.
  • The convertible top was replaced recently and still looks like new. Rear windows are very clear. Top folds up and down very easily. Does not leak.
  • The car is registered, licensed, taggedand insured. No problem with transfer. No issues titling.

Again..this is a very solid, rust free example of the last MGB's everproduced. Destined to become a very high valuecollectorcar in the future.Runs and drives very well. NOT a trailer queen. NOT a concours restoration. But it IS a very fun, good looking, drive-ableand enjoyable little car.
