Very Rare and Very Original!!This 1940
Mercury is practically "right out of the
wrappers" The original paint Cloud Mist Grey
(which is actually green) still shines like
the day it left the factory. The interior
has been covered and kept from wear by a
careful owner for many years. The only sign
of use is a little place above the driver's
arm rest. The rest of the upholstery is near
perfect. It has been garaged throughout its
careful ownership. The mechanicals are
excellent, it runs and drives smoothly and
quietly. The famous flathead V8 powers this
handsome Mercury. And it was noted for
amazing gas mileage as well as fast freeway
speed It is equipped with a radio and
factory heater. On the front bumper a grill
guard was installed. A backup light was
installed on the rear bumper arm. 6.50 X 16"
whitewall tires are set off by full factory
wheel covers, an accessory for 1940. The
dash board has wooden trim in place of
plastic, The clock is in the glove box. A
new battery was just installed. This
wonderful Mercury is ready to cruise.
