Car description |
---|
This is a project. No Reserve.
Real deal S-22. Not a car with a couple of S22 badges tacked onto it. (lotsa those out there)
The bad:
rockers and quarters. But I have rear 1/4 patch panels (!) which are unique for Comet and hard to find. Rockers are cheap and available repop.
The good:
floors and trunk.
Car has buckets and console.
260 V8. Mercomatic.
Oshawa built. Of the 5700 built in 1963, only a fraction built in Canada.
Repop bits plentiful...same as Falcon. The bits that are not easy to find, I have.
Some cars are worth doing, and make financial sense. This is just such a car.
This is an S22. Not Custom or base Comet.
Originally silver with white top and palomino interior.
Garage stored from 1978 to 2014, then shedded until 2019, garaged after that by me. Shows 38,000 - guessing it has rolled over.
I took it apart, but bolted back together for recent move. Next step is blasting and priming. Cutting and welding.
Car is complete less windshield and gas tank, which I tossed. They were no good.
Lotsa extra bits. Electronic distributor, coil, NORS rear quarter patch panels, NOS mercury man gas cap, 2 x 13" and 2 x 14" 5 lug wheels, full wheel and poverty hupcaps, extra trim, several extra S22 emblems (very rare), NOS spotlight, restored pushbutton mercury radio, (spotlight and radio are worth $1350 alone) etc etc.
Have BC title (Canada).
Includes literature.
Not a fire sale - I am plugging away at it. If you are serious - bid. If not, I am happy to keep car. My plan is semi-stock old school low-rider with a custom paint job and attitude.
