1966 Mercury Comet Cyclone GT Convertible 390/4V

****(This Mercury Cyclone S code convertible may be the only Special Ordered Pace Car with factory black interior and "Home Office Reserved" to be one of two Cyclone convertibles to be modified by the factory with 427 ci/ 2x4 barrel carburetors installed. The same "Home Office Reserved " process as the Special Order 1969 COPO Camaros

The original 390 4v engines were removed then sold with the factory modified 427 Cyclones

Note: 1966 R code Cyclone convertibles were never made and do not exist. Documented history shows that two S code 390 4V Cyclone convertibles were modified by the factory and had 427 2-4 barrel engines installed.)

This is a beautiful S Code Cardinal Red 1966 Mercury Cyclone convertible powered by matching numbers 390 Special Police Interceptor engine and C6 automatic transmission. The engine and transmission were disassembled and completely rebuilt after several years of storage, as was the factory 9 inch rear end. New exhaust, battery, alternator, brakes, fuel lines and radiator were installed post storage.

The black vinyl interior, dash pad, and door panels are in good condition, and the white convertible top is brand new. Paint and sheet metal need attention.
