Car description

Offered here for sale is a rare 1966 Mercury Comet Cyclone GT, ne of only 2,158 cars produced. Finished in it's original factory colour scheme of triple black, his beauty is a vision to behold! I originally sold this car toit's owner 10 years ago,it looks as good now as it did then, testament to his pride in ownership. The motor is the 390 which looks a little massaged, just replaced the valve cover gaskets and the valve gear looked brand new. It features a 4-barrel Holley, luminum intake manifold, lectronic ignition, eaders, emote oil filter,a bigger cooling fan and alarge capacity aluminum radiator with an additional electric fan, he battery was relocated to the trunk to accommodate the rad. The car runs and drives really well, he tranny shifts well. The front brakes have been upgraded to rotors with the addition of power assistance. The suspension has been a little worked too, arge sway bars front and rear, ecent replacement of various ball joints and bushings anduprated shocks. It has power steering andalso the added grip of 245/45 & 275/40x17 BF Goodrich's on Vintage Wheel Works retro alloys.Don't get me wrong, t's still a yank tank! The body and paint is pretty decent, here doesn't seem to be any rust, he body is mostly straight bar a few dings, he paint is old, hippedand discolored in places but it still shines bright and I wouldn't consider painting it just yet. The GRP hood has some cracks but in general is in great condition. All the chrome is good. The original interior has held up well with the main noticeable items being a split on the drivers seatand the faded chrome trim. The dash top is in excellent shape. A Sony CD player has been installed in the glove box with Infinity speakers and an Amp in the trunk. The vinyl roof is ok with the rear window not cloudy, he top mechanism is broke, he part($200) is available but on back order for a couple of weeks, he top still goes down but you could pinch the roof if you are not careful. All the electric windows work. Two things I noticed need attention is the horn and rev counter, will look into them. The underside is solid, believe this car started life in the Pacific Northwest, ooking at it's overall condition I would safely say this vehicle has been garaged for most of it's life. I'm selling this car for a friend and will be happy to answer any questions. Tony (310)663-6494
