Offered is a first year 1967 Mercury Cougar project. This car started life as a rare optioned white exterior on white interior A code 289 4 barrel with Auto and Air Conditioning. Sold new 5/67 in Los Angeles and remaining here since. I bought this as you see it and haven't found the time to restore it. Restoration was started a number of years ago and stalled, but it has been stored in a garage for many years. The exterior is in primer with a lot of body work done but still more is needed. The front floor section in the passenger side has rust through, the drivers side is better but has rust as well. The body is fairly straight and a lot of the work has already been done. The glass is all there but the rear glass will need the moulding. The interior is in surprising shape for the age. The white vinyl is nearly all there, with the console, higher XR7 trim level with the tachometer, clock, wood grained dash and steering wheel. The rear seat has damage, and the headliner is missing. All the wiring appears to be intact, the key is missing. Keyed ignition cylinders are here on ebay for $25. This Cougar has had a 302 2 barrel with C4 trans from a running 1968 Cougar installed. The driveshaft is included but not installed. It will need the linkage from the C4 to the floor shifter. All the trim and badges are there with decent chrome. The air conditioner is missing the compressor. The car rolls and steers easily. This is a good chance to pick up a first year Cougar with rare options at a nice price!
