ONE OF A KIND MERCURY GASSER. Original Comet Caliente 289 auto, this car was taken down to bare metal, (only the floors needed a small patch), shock towers removed, 9" pinned rear was installed, frames tied and custom drivetrain fitted-removed, then painted with Dupont Raptor Red and PXR black stripe. Speedway 4" drop axle w.disc brakes. Vintage Cragar 15X3 drag SST's. FRESH 351C 4-bolt main block, Venolia max dome custom pistons, +017". Fresh Quench chamber 4V heads, 2.250" intake valves and crower roller rockers. NOS Holley Dominator intake with New Dominator carb, Crower roller cam. Accel NOS Race II ignition. PLENTY of power. New polished Hybrid Ford 1G one-wire alternator. Custom Big Dawg headers. Mcleod hydraulic 11" clultch. Lakewood Scattershield. NEW Wilwood master cylinder. Correct REBUILT David Kee toploader for the 64 Comet with custom crossmember. Custom poly motor mounts. 4.56 gears. AFX style traction bars. New steel braided brake lines. New seats and custom interior. Crites fiberglass hood, front bumper and deck lid. Original all steel body. new padded dash with chrome trim. New Hurst shifter. Aluminum radiator. Custom wiring. New front and back windshields. Fuel cell. You know how much work is involved in building a car from scratch, too many details to mention and the weather is too crappy yet to take pictures outside, if we get a sunny day I will take more pictures to appreciate this color in the sun.
