Car description

No Reserve

Highest bidder wins this rare full size coupe.

This all original 1965 Mercury Monterey two door coupe with a factory 3 speed manual transmission and a 390 big block enginehas spent the majority of its life parked in a driveway. I purchased this "Rare" car from the original owner. It was custom ordered from the factory in 1965 with no radio, o reverse lights, o a/c, anual 3 speed transmission, ow hitch, ear spring, upports and air shocksstrictly to tow a 31' Air Stream trailer.

The72,000 miles on the car is original, he car is accident free, uper straight, nmolested in anyway and Very Rare as it is a full size two door coupe with a manual shift rather than automatic.

I beleive there were a little over 5700 Mercury Monterey two door coupesproduced in 1965, was told by the family that this was the last one off the line, ut I have no way of proving this. It is the"only" full sized3speed 60's car I have ever ran into in over 40 years.

The car is in need of the left wheel cylinder (leaks) and the intake manifold gasket (dried, eaks oil twords the back of engine).

When I purchased the car a couple of years ago I installed new tires, ebuilt the carburator, une up, luids, oses, rakes and regular maintenance was done. The carsits parked under a cover in the driveway, with a clear title in my name, registered and insured. I have put less than 1500 miles on it within the two years as I own eight cars.I took it out last month and drove it to vegas and back(roughly 700 miles). I just filled the tank and added oil to the enginewhen I got there due to the manifold leak.

The car runs and drives beautifully, very powerful, ery smooth, ery solid. .

The car is in need of paint and interior work. Itwas repainted the original color by Macco back in the80's. The paint is faded, he interior is sun damaged, he cloth portion of the seats are brittle and torn. The armrests and small miscellaneousparts to the car including a full size owners manual are in the trunk. Icut the missingportion of the headliner, o toit hanging. The caris 99.9% rust free, nly a quarter size rust spot in the rear lower quarter panel (see pic). And has one dent in the right rear panel. (see pic).

I am auctioning this car at NO Reserve for two reasons.

My busy work schedule.

And I am moving to northern californiaso one less car to take.

No reserve, ighest bidder will win !
