Car description

Very rare low mileage 1972 Mercedes 350SL #143 produced. Part of the first group to be shipped to dealers in the US. Only 36. 00 original miles. The early American 450SLs were badged as a 350SL (like Europe) even though they were a larger 4. 5L V8. This one is correctly badged as a 350SL. Purchased in California. shipped to Florida and driven approximately 750 miles for the last 6 years. Condition:1) 2-tone interior in amazing condition with original seats. door panels. and dash (no cracks). 2) Original Becker "Mexico" radio included (see pic). radio working (cassette not working). Not used daily. 3) Exterior paint in good but not perfect condition. painted 10+ years ago. and beginning to show its age. 4) Bumpers and Chrome in great original condition. 5) Windows and door locks operate smoothly and easily. 6) Convertible top in good condition with up/down operation working as it should and seals fit very well around windows. Mercedes fit and finish is amazing for 1972. 7) Comes with a matching hardtop with rear defrost. 8) Rubber seals in excellent condition. 9) Drives. steers. and rides fantastic. 10) 3-speed auto-transmission shifts perfect. 11) No oil leaks. 12) See pics for original owners manual and parts book/diagrams. Repairs/improvements over the last 6 years:1) New rubber seals all around. 2) Certain chrome parts upgraded due to scratches etc. 3) Refurbished center console. 4) Installed new heating hoses and pipes (including one that runs below intake). heater works perfect. 5) Replaced AC switch. but AC compressor currently disconnected as car is only used on fair weather days. 6) Replaced steering rack and other suspension/steering components for more precise steering and handling. 7) New tires installed a month ago. 8) New gas shocks. 9) New brakes all around. 10) New front speakers. 11) New electrical connections to injectors. 12) New starter. 13) New fuel pump and fuel filter. 14) Installed color-matching seat belts. Car originally had black shoulder-belts that were faded. This car looks fantastic on the boulevards. and gets plenty of attention. The color combination and euro style of this 1972 SL is what makes this car even more appealing.
