The SL variant was a 2-seat convertible with standard soft top and optional hardtop. This particular year of SL was the R107 Chassis which replaced the W113 and then was later replaced by the R129. The R107 which was produced from 1971 through 1989, making it the second-longest single series ever produced by Mercedes Benz.
