Up for sale a very rare 1984 Mercedes 500SEC that has been converted professionally at some point in its life to a full convertible. Still sporting its 5 litre m117 and 4 speed automatic. it does run however has been in dry heated storage and not run in several years. The car has both rocker and lateral support additions, as well as 2 hydraulic cylinders which raise and lower the custom convertible top. The trunk hinges are custom to clear the top frame when fully retracted. the header panel has been modified to accommodate 2 latches and a custom cable assembly that hold down the top. When I purchased the car it had a completely trashed interior, so it has been removed and discarded with the exception of the custom rear seats/ custom stitched dashboard. The convertible top is in poor shape but intact. The car is stock besides those modifications listed.
Onto the body kit and associated parts. I purchased another SEC a few years ago. The body kit pictured was removed from that other car. I’d say it’s in fair shape, all the pieces are there and need to be glued to the body/repaired and blended to complete the project. The body does require sheet metal modification to fit the kit.
Included in the sale is a complete gray SEC interior which is partially pictured, and all kinds of misc SEC parts to finish the project.
I have the correct size wide 15†wheels which will be included in the sale. Both front and rears.
With all that said this is a huge project which will take a lot of diligence to finish and is by no means road worthy or street ready. I have described this project to the best of my ability and imply no warranties or guarantees about it.
