For sale is the most reliable car I have ever owned. A beautiful 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300CD Turbo Diesel; a 2dr coupe powered by a 3.0-liter OM617 turbodiesel 5-cylinder engine backed by a 4-speed automatic transmission. Equipped with power steering, the car is finished in Classic Benz Silver and has Beautiful Black Interior that is in great condition.
I recently installed New Brakes, New Tires and a New Battery. The transmission was recently flushed, the Turbo is Running Strong, the Sunroof Works Perfectly, as do the Electric Windows, and it Drives Great! A luxurious ride. It’s ready to be a daily driver right now!
I took a cue from the previous owner and have only ever used synthetic oil on this baby.
This car is a prime candidate for a veggie conversion so it can run on vegetable oil instead of gas, if that is your desire. As is though, it gets superior gas mileage. You could only do better with an electric or hybrid car.
It has service records dating back many years.
It’s been my only car for the last 7 1/2 years and I have loved and cared for it the entire time. I am selling because I found an amazing deal on a ’77 450 SLC that I couldn’t pass up but I can’t afford to keep both.
These cars, the w123 Coupe, are SUPER rare! You see the 4-door 300d sedans everywhere but it’s only on the very rare occasion that you spot one of these sleek machines - especially in classic silver! It’s a real head turner. I get compliments All The Time.
The car also has a fairly new JVC stereo with CD player, USB connection and Bluetooth so you can talk on the phone hands free and play your tunes on the stereo. The brand new speakers were installed just a couple of years ago and it has a mighty, old-school, high performance, 4 channel amplifier - a Zapco AG360!
Mercedes built these W123 diesels to last, and many are still on the road today. As a testament to their longevity, they are popular in Africa and the middle-east as taxis, to this very day, covering thousands of miles of rough roads with only basic maintenance. The 3.0-liter inline 5 diesel is considered to be one of the most reliable engines ever built. They are known to last a minimum of 500, 000 miles, some are know to go past 999, 999 miles. This one has approximately 279, 150 so a long way to go! Also, the timeless design is sure to last as long as the car itself, making this car a classic that is here to stay.
It is a SALVAGE title; I was told by the previous owner this was due to a title transfer, or possibly it being reported stolen. No accidents or anything like that. You can check the CARFAX: VIN #: WDBAB53A5CB000776. I didn't hold it against her when I bought it and she has served me well in return. I'm sure she'll do the same for you!
