Car description |
---|
Up for auction is my 1982 Mercedes Benz 300CD turbo diesel. 218K on the odometer. Its in nice shape overall but is not a show winner. Mechanically it runs out great and starts easily on cold mornings. It goes down the road nice and smooth at 70.
Recent maintenance includes valves checked and new valve cover gasket, new transmission filter and trans pan gasket and new trans fluid. Oil change and filter along with new spin on fuel filter. Completely rebuilt OEM alternator, not a cheap aftermarket one. Both doors were taken apart and window tracks cleaned and lubed along with all lock mechanisms. Front windows go up and down smoothly. I also had 4 new Kenda all season tires put on the car. Car has been repainted at some point in the past and has had a little bit of body work done to it that I can tell. It looks good though and is solid. The passenger front fender has a small dent on it by the wheel well.
A few things that do not work on the car: AC does not work, no belt on it and I have not checked this out. Door locks, there is a vacuum leak somewhere and I have not checked into this either. Cruise control has been removed by the previous owner, it does have the original Becker radio in it but I cannot get it to do much. Drivers side rear window is off track and sunroof does not open. I have not checked into this yet either.
It's a nice example of a '82 Benz and these 5 cylinder turbo diesels are the best engines Mercedes ever made and run forever. They are very easy to work on too. As with all these older Benz they require a certain amount of tinkering and adjustment from time to time. I bought this car as a project and now am looking to move on to the next project so this one is up for sale. I enjoy working on these older cars and 4x4's, Land Cruisers etc. Please ask any questions you may have and checkout my feedback. Car has a clean, clear title in my name. I can assist with shipping and can meet a shipper but you must make all the arrangements. Thanks for looking and good luck if you decide to bid! Thank You.
