Car description |
---|
I obtained this car from the original owner about a year and a half ago. I have done the following:
New BatteryNew StarterNew TiresNew Master CylinderNew Brake linesNew Brake Pads
Replaced Front Right CaliperReplaced Rear Right CaliperUpgraded to Fast Glow Plug Push Button System (Ken Bergsma Kit)Replaced all Fuel FiltersReplaced Fuel Screen in Fuel Tank and New Gas Cap
Serviced Air Filter/ Oil BathReplaced Rear Stabilizer/Sway Bar linkReplaced Steering Center Link/Drag LinkRepaired Fuel Acceleration System/Gas Pedal Replaced
Replaced Diesel Primer Hand PumpRepaired Front Exhaust PipeReplaced all shifter bushings and replaced complete shifter with a rebuilt one.
There is some minor surface rust and wear and tear consistent with a 50 year old car. It starts up immediately with the new fast glow plug system and seems to run very well. It is not perfect, it has some dents in the front chrome grill and the cowl under the front bumper has some damage. The body is overall very solid. The original paint is dull but it's intact except for some peeling on the driver's door. It appears there may have been some body work done to that door, where the paint is peeling. There is one small rust through area under one wheel well. The fuel gauge does not work. Still has the original radio. Dash has no cracks. The original interior is intact with no rips in the MB Tex. I was told the original owner brought this from Germany about 20 years ago. It's a fun car to drive, although not built for speed. Odometer shows 85,543.
