For Sale - 1967 Mercedes Benz 230SL Project Car and Parts AS-IS

This car is in need of a full restoration and being sold AS-IS. We acquired the car years ago but have lost the steam for doing the restoration. We've collected parts along the way, many from similar models. The car has been stored indoors. Engine and transmission(s) are included and the suspension is in enough put the car in a rolling state. Most of the body is there with the exception of the hood. There is a second front-end for structure. The hard top is currently sitting on the car but there is no convertible top.
The title is current. A bill of sale will be included with the purchase. Title transfer must be done within 10 days of vehicle transfer.
Engine - We had a 6 cylinder block machined years ago to build for this car but it has since gotten surface rust and will need polished. A 6 cylinder 280SE (1972 or so we were told) complete engine was to be a parts donor to build it. Valve cover, head, and sump are also included. Two intakes are included. Part numbers are in the photos.
Transmission - Or more appropriately, three transmissions. All are automatic with a 113, 108, and one tagged 280SE. Not sure of the state of any as we hadn't gotten to rebuilding them or sending them out for rebuild.
Chassis - Needing repair. The pictures offer the best description. Because of the space it is in, it is rather difficult to get a full shot of the car without taking it outside. As Iowa is the new Oregon, we have been trying to keep it out of the rain.
Parts - Boxes of them. Set of four steel wheels plus two alloy Mercedes wheels. See the pictures. There are also replacement panels included as part of this auction. There are some notable missing parts we hadn't acquired yet: gauges and switches, hood, windscreen (there's one there but it's broken), lots of the chrome parts, convertible top, drive shaft, seats (the ones in it were out of a 280SE), and others. I did my best to take pictures of all the parts and put them up on Flickr for review. The link is above.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Be forewarned, I am not a Mercedes guy and am armed with limited knowledge. I will do my best to answer all questions as accurately as possible.
. I am listing this for local pickup. The car is stored indoors in a garage that is not easily accessible so some advanced work is needed. For a non-local buyer who wants the car and parts shipped, I will work with you to get the car and parts delivered to a shipper of your choice withing 20 miles of Des Moines, IA. You are responsible for paying for all freight and shipping. The boxes of parts will not all fit in the car and I would estimate two pallets worth, minimum. Let me know how to arrange things and I will be happy to do what I can. ***
Again, if there are any questions, please let me know.
Thank you for reading.
