Up for sale today is my 1972 Mercedes-Benz 250 Sedan. Vin:11401112014475 This vehicle is Dark Olive with the original Cognac (brown) MB-Tex leather/vinyl interior with no rust at all. Desert owned in Texas, Arizona, and Nevada. I work for BMW and have worked on this car myself or with the help of one of our master technicians who has worked all over on many classic German cars in his years.

I have a clean Nevada title in my name and the vehicle is currently registered and insured. The vehicle has 83140 original miles. The condition and history that I have on the car follow. I am in possession of the original window sticker, owners manual, parts catalog, stereo guide and purchase order from Texas.
This car is all original from top to bottom and has a lot of work done as I will list below. The vehicle has never been in an accident and is a real gem. The paint has been professionally buffed and corrected by one of the best people in Las Vegas and is ready for a once over of touch up to make it contours ready. There are small blemishes and stains that need more TLC. The vehicle has some small paint chips and dings over the body from over the years but it is otherwise easily 8/10. I will have the dents as seen in the picture straightened out by the time the vehicle is sold. It is hard to find an old car with the original paint this good. The glass is all original and factory stamped from Mercedes as OEM. All the chrome on the outside of the vehicle is intact and original; there is one piece on the front grill that is missing but the rest is all intact including the original front 3 point star. Some of the chrome trim around the car is dented in but as a whole is intact and shiney. All four wheel covers are color matched to the body and the originals in perfect shape with the original wheels. The side mirror on this vehicle is perfectly crystal clear and the chrome housing is perfect.
For the interior, it is just as immaculate. There is no cracks in the dashboard and the interior is just as immaculate as the body. The MB-Tex (Vinyl) interior is saddle brown and has not one rip or tear nor dry rot. The steering wheel and all interior glass accessories and knobs are all original and immaculate. The gauge cluster is free from cracks and hazing and all the lights on the exterior function as designed. The wood on the dashboard in all intact and has minor surface cracks. The factory installed moonroof works and is whisper quiet with no hesitation or squeaks. All windows are hand crank and go up and down smoothly. The carpets are all original and in perfectly serviceable condition. The two point/three point seat belts operate as designed with no massive tears or tugging; the mounting brackets on the B pillar are tight and secure. The plastic components on the interior are mostly intact. The door panel on the drivers side door is loose and comes off easily. The trim on the outer drivers seat facing the door is cracked as well. The drivers side seat adjuster is tight and doesn’t move very smoothly on the track. The passenger side has no problems but the headrest does not stay in place. I have the part included with the purchase but needs to be resecured. The shifter is smooth with little play; it doesn’t lock perfectly on the gear your in but shifts super smooth. The needles all move and sweep accurately except the fuel guage which sticks in around ½ a tank. The interior lights do not come on right away when the headlights are turned on. I have the original factory Becker head unit to my knowledge works. At one point the car was wired for an aftermarket head unit and the wiring is there for it using a standard 18 pin which can be adapted to any head unit you want to put in or easily converted back to the Becker unit. The manufacturer Becker can refurbish the unit and add an Auxiliary port for a 3.5mm or retrofit bluetooth to it as well so you get modern function with classic aesthetics. The vehicle has factory A/C that has been converted to modern r134A freon with a new York compressor replaced in the last two years. It blows cold but does need a recharge which is common with these conversions. It is done by weight and a little tedious but makes a huge difference. All the controls but the passenger heater lever work and operate smoothly. This one is seized and needs to be lubricated at the firewall. The 12v accessory cigarette lighter works and pulls strong voltage. The smokers windows operate smooth as do all the ash trays in the car. It has no smoke smell at all. Just classic vehicle smell. All the vents adjust normally and have full sweeping range of motion.
Mechanically the car is just as well off. It runs and drives smooth and fires right on the first few cranks. The vehicle has the stock 2.8 cyl i6 motor with the problematic Zenith carbs replaced with Dual Weber 38 DGAS carburetors professionally rebuilt with strong fuel pull and no leakage. The points have been converted to a hot spark electronic ignition with new spark plugs and wires plus cap and rotor all around and the timing adjusted accordingly with no backfire or hesitation on acceleration. The stock Mercedes air filter has been replaced with the proper air filters for the Weber carburetors but the stock one is included with the circular air filter and adapter for the Webers. The air filters on it now make the exhaust sound a bit more throaty and have better airflow for the desert which is why I ran them. The vacuum lines have been replaced where needed for any leaks. The idle is smooth and quiet. The cooling system has been completely redone. The radiator was rodded out and cleaned then painted. All coolant hoses are new from the last two years replaced by the previous owner with the accessory belts, the water pump and thermostat are new with a complete coolant drain and fill performed and redone with BMW Long Life blue coolant. The vehicle holds steady at operating temperature and runs a little warm when it is hot out. When I drive it at night there is no problem. It just doesn’t really enjoy the 118 degree heat with the a/c running. The accessory fan kicks on right as it should. The automatic transmission cooler lines that was leaking was replaced. The fluid was completely flushed with Dextron III equivalent ATF. The only thing I didn’t do was replace the transmission filter which is included with the vehicle purchase. The brake fluid is crystal clear with a new brake master cylinder and brake booster replaced two years ago. The power steering fluid is due for a flush and I have a new filter which will be included with the vehicle purchase. The lines leading into and out of the housing are in great shape. The belts are all solid, the power steering pulley has a little wobble but works fine I will include a replacement pulley with the purchase but power steering overhaul is one thing i’d recommend in the future on this vehicle. The battery was replaced on 12/16 and has been kept on a tender when not in use. The oil change has been done before the auction with a new Mercedes cartridge oil filter and gasket and Shell Rotella 15w-40. The oil lightly seeps from the drain plug, it leaks because I replaced it with a generic drain plug when I did the oil service since the factory one was stripped when I removed it. I have a new OEM mercedes plug I will include with the auction for when the oil gets changed it can be replaced. Otherwise the oil in the vehicle is great and there is no real leaks coming from it. The valve cover gasket is new and the engine is immaculately clean and runs great. The transmission shifts strong and has a smooth delivery with no hesitation on upshifts or downshifts. The throttle is crisp and responsive and the brake system has no issues. The pads and rotors on all four wheels are all in great shape and not due and the car stops on a dime for 1972 standards.
For the steering and suspension the car is in excellent shape. The tires all around are new. The rear two were replaced last year and the front two are new replaced a few months back with 185/70r14 Barum Brillantis tires all around at 8/32nds. The motor mounts are brand new as well as the lower control arm bushings as seen in the pictures. The subframe and transmission mounts will need to be replaced to make the ride 100% along with the struts. I have all four new struts for the front and rear of the vehicle brand new included with the vehicle purchase not installed yet. The brake lines and fuel lines are all new; with new inline glass Behr fuel filter installed and running 91 premium with no problems and a fresh tank in the system.
The undercarriage is completely rust free all over. Some parts have very light surface rust as seen in the pictures but nothing on the chassis front or rear. The trunk is clean as well with no hidden rush spots to be seen.
The pictures tell everything you need to know about the vehicle. Any any all questions you may have I encourage you to ask via eBay or my cell phone number you can text me or call me 702-469-4790. Any additional picture requests or videos of it driving I will be more than happy to provide you. If you are local or close by we can arrange a time to see the car in person and drive it. Any reasonable special requests let me know. I can help arrange transport anywhere in the country at reasonable prices via my work.
The list I have provided is comprehensive and I am sure that I missed a few things. I have all receipts backing up all my claims for things I have replaced or proper date stamps on parts for no receipts for otherwise. Many things will be included with the sale of the vehicle. The vehicle is being sold as is with no stated or implied warranties. Let me know any thing you might want to know before buying the car.
A few little things I have to put for the purpose of my sanity. I will only sell the vehicle to someone in the United States. If you’re international please let me know before you intend on buying. I will not drive the car to your house to show you. Please no joy rides or asking for trades. I will not take any payments or super low ball prices. The vehicle will be listed locally for sale as well as online. I am a pretty reasonable person but somethings need to be stated. Respect my time and I will respect yours.
