For Sale:1984 Mercedes Benz 380SL with only 17400 original documented two owner miles. This beautiful extremely low mile SL is worth serious purchase consideration if you have been looking for the right SL to buy. The car is a documented two owner vehicle that was originally purchased from Estate Motors of Birmingham, Michigan where the car also received regular scheduled maintenance. The warranty and service booklet has the dealer service stamps with miles and dates clearly visible documenting its history. The second owner purchased the car in 1989 from the original owner and drove it very little before placing it in storage. The car was just brought out of 12 year storage and it's systems were gone through to make it road worthy. It received a fresh tune up, exhaust system work, fuel line and filter work, brakes checke, ac system work and more.
The overall mechanical condition of the car is excellent and all operating components operate correctly. The power windows, lights, ac, power antenna, engine, brakes, steering, along with the balance of the car all work great. The motor is nice and smooth with great oil pressure and strong performance. The spare tire in the trunk is original and has never been on the car. The original Mercedes Benz tool kit roll is still sealed in the original plastic bag and has never been opened. The cars runs and drive like a dream and will satisfy the fussiest collector.
The exterior paint and interior all appear original to the best of my knowledge and do not need any work. The overall appearance of the car is extremely nice survivor status. The Convertible top is original and was properly stored when in the down position with white cotton towels protecting the rear clear plastic window. The canvas portion of the top is like New with no fading or flaws. The top goes up and down with ease and locks into position as designed. The interior is all original and in fantastic shape with perfect dash, door panels, steering wheel, center consol, handles etc. I'm very impressed with the entire condition of the interior of this car.
This is not a restored car. This is an original car which sets its self apart from the rest of the crowd. If you are able to come and see and drive this car, then I strongly suggest you do so to truly appreciate its condition and appearance. If you are unable then please feel confident that you are buying a quality SL with very low original miles. I can go on and on about how nice it but worlds can only say so much. I am selling the car as is because cars of this age are. I may be reached at 248-760-0021 to discuss the car with you or to make purchase arrangements. Shipping costs will be the responsibility of the new owner.
Thank you for viewing my listing. I have the car listed for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the listing at any time. Bob248-760-0021
I received a couple of inquiries and it was suggested to me that I was asking too much for the car. I figured a 17000 mile SL was worth $25,000. I turned down a $17,000 offer and lowered my price to make it really attractive for the next owner. If you want to talk price then call me or click on the buy it now and buy it. Great car. Bob
