Hello and Thank you for viewing my auction. This is first time this SL has been for sale since it was new. I acquired it from a friend in his 70's who stopped driving recently. This was his baby and he garaged it at his home since new. I planned on keeping this forever but an overseas move requires me to sell it. It is in great condition for being 40 years old and looks better than most 5 year old vehicles on the road. Gorgeous and very rare exterior color CODE 904 Navy Blue with Blue leather interior and Navy Blue excellent condition soft top. The hard top is included as well. Interior shows very well also. Seats have had sheepskin covers for many years which protected the leather seats very nicely. Driver seat has normal leather creases in a few spots and Passenger seat has rarely had anyone sitting on it and looks excellent. Carpets, console, door panels etc are all beautiful as you can see in photos. All original inside with exception of upgraded stereo from back in the day. Cold Air Conditioning and Hot Heater. All interior lights and exterior lights work. Power windows and central locking system work. All original glass in excellent condition. Wipers, radio, horn, turn signals, power antenna all work. Matching Michelin tires in great shape. The dual tip muffler was replaced for a nicer looking European style muffler which makes the car quieter and better looking. I have included photos of the places these Mercedes normally rust out to show the incredible condition of these areas in the trunk and in the floors. I have lifted up the factory rugs to show the condition which is incredible. In the trunk I also lifted a corner of the foam which is still like new. Runs and drives great with no leaks. Engine looks very clean as well. Also has a recent correct size battery. The spare tire is removed in a photo to show the perfect metal underneath it. These vehicles are going up in value quickly and this one will make a great investment that you can enjoy as well. Nada collector car guides has the Average retail value at $21,600 and the High retail at $33,400. I have priced this one very reasonable and best offers will be considered. The 78 and 79 are highly sought after as the 79 was last year of the basic easy to repair k- jetronic technology with no lambda control and had the larger 4.5 engine before it was replaced in 1981 with the 380sl and smaller 3.8 engine. I have a clear actual mileage title in my name that will be released when vehicle is paid in full. A $500.00 non refundable deposit is due immediately at auction end by Paypal. Balance is to be paid within 7 days by either cash, check or bank wire. International bidders are welcomed and I can store vehicle up to 3 weeks free of charge while you get your shipping in order. Everyone dreams of cruising on a beautiful day in a classic Mercedes convertible...you only live once...live your dream! Prices are climbing quickly on the R107 450sl's. I still remember when the w121 190sl was affordable and now they are untouchable and next the w113 generation from 63 through 71 sl's which seem like a few years ago cost as much as a Toyota Corolla and now there are examples out there for over $100k. Thank you for viewing my auction and Happy Bidding.
