1973 Mercedes-Benz W114 280 series are smaller 4 door sedans first introduced within the Mercedes new generation lineup. It was the first post war MB production car to use newly engineered chassis, not derived from in any way from preceding models. The new chassis format of semi-trailing rear arms and ball joint front end, first displayed in the W114 chassis would be used in all Mercedes passenger car models until the development of multi-link rear suspension of the 1980's. the improvement in handling and remarkable comfort would also make its way into the SL-c class roadster of 1971. A straight v-6 engine with 67,997 miles, original owners manual and maintenance booklet from the day it was purchased. Has been covered by car cover and under a canopy since 2011. Power Windows and updated kenwood stereo and speaker system. Interior original upholstery. Carpeting restoration in progress. Has not been operated since 2011. All engine parts original and hubcaps special ordered. Placed on DMV "non-operational" status. I received this vehicle as a gift from my uncle to help get me to school and back. He purchased it from a man who owned it as his "little fixer upper". The car did the job at the time, but after college I purchased a newer car so I did not have a need for "old Betsy" so Its been sitting in my drive way covered for the past few years waiting for someone to love and ador her. To my knowledge, everything on it is original except carpet and stereo which is a CD player that is "satellite radio" ready. The paint is original & in good condition. The last time I drove it was 2012 so it needs some work to get it up and running again as of this moment it is not mobile so it would require towing to move off property. We have new tenants in the back house and the car is partial blocking their parking spots. I've own and driven many cars and with a little TLC this could be a great car again. Please remember, this is a used car, 36 years old, which as nice as it may be, is not perfect.
