Stunningly Beautiful 1988 Mercedes Benz 560SL with Euro Style Bumpers!
33,345 miles from new. Always garaged. An absolute gorgeous and impeccable eye-turner!
Stunning Pearl Grey Color (Code 122) with matching Grey Leather interior.
Collector quality automobile!
Paint has a show quality shine and well complimented with an abundance of bright chrome trim.
This car also sports an elegant original red pin stripe down both sides.
Grey leather interior shows beautifully and interior burl wood trim also has a show quality shine.
Both original hard top and (OEM) soft top are in excellent condition. The soft top looks like new and is very easy to open and close. The hard top is my favorite way to drive the car and catches the most attention. It has a few minor paint blemishes (no rust) but you really have to look hard to see them.
The Yokohama tires have less than 200 miles on them.
Mechanically the vehicle runs fantastically. It is absolutely fun to drive!!
Smooth idle plus strong and smooth gear shifts through acceleration and deceleration.
Ice cold AC works fantastically.
Original Becker Grand Prix Radio sounds great considering it was installed into the car 28 years ago! And the automatic aerial works flawlessly.
Engine bay is all original and exceptionally clean.
Undercarriage is very clean - there are no oil leaks.
Sporting new, much sleeker and more elegant Euro style bumpers -- this is definitely one of the absolutely best examples of the legendary R107 available anywhere.
The original US style bumpers are also available for delivery if the new owner wants them. But who would prefer these over the Euro bumpers which the R107 MB SL Series was designed by Mercedes to feature, not the ugly and bulbous US versions that most other 560SLs still have mounted??
Comes with hard roof stand and custom made hard roof cover.
Brand new window seals on the hard top - these are the pricy OEM seals, not the cheap rip-offs.
Comes with all original accessories including tools and fully stocked first aid kit.
Carpets have always been covered with protective covering, which was removed for the photos. They appear like new carpets and feature the Mercedes Benz logo (Black over Grey).
All documents are included as shown in the photos.
A totally clean CarFax is available for interested buyers.

This 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is the one for true collectors. The rare pearl grey paint has a great sunny day shine, but the low 33,345 miles (averaging less than 1,190 miles annually) and overall fantastic presentation lets you know this luxury machine has been treated with the respect it deserved since day one. I have never been stopped on the streets and parking lots by so many people who are delighted by the look of this car. None of my other cars draw so much attention!
This 560SL is part of the now legendary R107 model designation. These cars are iconic because they represent an era when very few companies could build a convertible without worrying about safety regulations. Mercedes crafted their cars so robustly that the R107 exceeded these standards, and they did it elegantly without an unsightly roll bar. Today it remains elegant, powerful, comfortable, timeless, and nimble – a classic that can do everything. It was the go-to driver for celebrities, dignitaries, and the wealthy because the sleek lines hid a full size interior and usable trunk that was perfect for any road trip. This one has added value because of the immense care that has been taken to be sure the body lines and trim are close to pristine. The Pearl Grey exterior has the kind of flare that draws the right kind of attention, but it retains its full sophistication thanks to the subtle red pinstripe, perfect and plentiful chrome accents inside and outside, and those iconic Mercedes alloy wheels. The black folding roof matches so nicely with the euro style bumpers and elegant matching rubber side protectors, that this car almost has a two-tone presence, and when you want a coupe-like profile, the optional hardtop goes on with Teutonic precision and has reminiscent of the style of the exquisite Pagoda.
The 560SL was one of the most expensive cars Mercedes offered during its reign, and so the features list is quite long. This includes desirable conveniences such as power windows, power locks, power steering, front & rear defrost, powered antennae, drivers airbag, cruise control, third brake light, and the correct Becker Grand Prix AM/FM/cassette stereo. It means this luxury convertible will keep you very comfortable even when the top is down.
The 560SL came with a big 5.6-liter V8 motor making 238 hp and 287 lb-ft of torque – more than the contemporary Rolls-Royces. On the road, an R107 has a fully-independent chassis that is the perfect balance of elastic comfort and tight-handling. The four-speed automatic transmission also strikes a balance between performance and overdrive comfort cruising. The total package is finished off with four-wheel disc brakes that include ABS.
They say that class is something that can't be bought, but purchasing this 560SL proves them all wrong. Harder and harder to find such quality with low mileage like this, and as clean as this, with the fantastic Euro bumpers -- this one will go fast!!
