Introduced to the public in Spring of 1971, he all new Mercedes-Benz R107 SL became available as a personal luxury sports car. Nicknamedde Panzerwagenfor weighing in at more than 3,400 pounds, he new SL for model year 1972 was a completely new body, ith new luxury and safety refinements. A completely redesigned engine was housed underneath the hood, 4.5 liter SOHC V8 mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission. By the late 1970's and early 1980's Mercedes-Benz had to meet constant changing emissions controls, herefore, ausing lower compression and lowerhorsepower. For 1985 Mercedes-Benz upped the performance of the SL by placing their new 5.6 litre V8 engine into the car, ringing performance back to where it should have been. Introduced in Summer of 1985, he 560SL’s new 5.6 litre aluminum engine gave more horsepower and higher compression and smoother power output. The SL was given the performance it needed and with sales exceeding expectations the 560SL continued to be the reigning king of the luxury roadsters.

This SL left the Mercedes-Benz production line in May of 1989 making it one of the last 560SL’s off the line. This SL was delivered new to Marlin Imports, NC in FT Lauderdale Florida and sold new to its first owner on July 18, 989. The car then made its way to AZ sometime in the late 90’s early 2000’s with the second owner and then moved again to CA just a few years ago. The car has had 2 owners in its life and has traveled just 5,900 miles since brand new. The paint on the car is near perfect and shows like new. The interior of the car is in like new condition with the smallest mark on the drivers bolster. The dash and center console are near perfect and show like new. The convertible top has been replaced with a Navy blue top and is brand new. The car starts right up and runs and drives like new. The engine does not leak and the car does not smoke on start up or acceleration. The transmission is smooth with no signs of any issues. The suspension and steering are near perfect without any faults and the brakes feel excellent and responsive. The car has just had a recent service and brand new Michelin tires on all four corners. All of the original weather seals are in excellent condition including the original plastic rings on the upper windshield railing for the tops. All of the power options and lights are operating and designed including the original Becker radio and the antenna. Accompanied with the car are the original books, ervice books with the dealer stampings, ool roll, riginal spare, irst aid kit, eys, nd hard top keys.
