Here in Southern Arizona we have an abundance of retired folk and every now and again, ecause I am in the healthcare industry, connect with one of these older folks and we begin talking about cars. I love all original cars of any make or model and it thrills me when I find one that is in pristine condition. It's sort of like a treasure hunt. I enjoy finding them and then finding good homes for them. I don't do it that often anymore due to restrictions being placed on non-dealers selling cars, ut this Mazda was one of those trucks that I had to save from some kid chopping and modifying beyond recognition. It was owned it's entire life by a female driver who was military (Navy) and kept the truck garaged whenever it was not being driven. She kept records on this truck like you wouldn't believe. The car was classically over-maintained as evidenced by the receipts. We're talking about oil changes after being driven a few hundred miles since the previous oil change. Anything the owner was told that it needed, t was done. The paperwork that was kept is incredible and will come with the truck of course. It includes a log of mileage and gas fill-ups, ll maintenance ever done on the truck (most of it was done at the same shop), riginal manuals for the camper shell, adio and aftermarket cruise control and the original window sticker. This type of documentation of how a vehicle was cared for certainly adds value to the vehicle and peace of mind to the new owners. I will outline the vehicle in more detail below:HISTORY:Always an Arizona truck and at the same address it's whole life as verified by the documentation that comes with the truck. It was purchased new from Bell Road Mazda in Phoenix on 8/4/89 for a purchase price of $10,230.00 but they added AC on the truck for an additional $1,195 bringing the total for the truck to $11,425.00. She kept meticulous records on the truck that give all the history on the truck.EXTERIOR:The truck is in beautiful condition and has all of it's original paint that shines like new. It was garaged every night and covered parking when she was working before retirement. The Stockland shell was put on the truck on 2/19/1990 for a price of $906.58 and is in excellent shape. Has a light in the back and sliding side windows with screens. The rear hatch locks for security. Stock graphics on the truck still look good. Locking rear gas cover, rand new Toyo tires, ll lights work and all lenses are clear and bright. Step rear bumper with 2 inch ball. In 1998 B&M Bumper and Hitch installed a brake control in the truck and trailer wiring as they were retired by now and towed a small trailer from time to time. Stock wheels are in excellent condition with no road rash or rust. Look inside the bed and you will flip out when you see that the inside of the bed looks like it was just driven off the show room floor! There are hardly any scratches in the bed and it is in incredible shape (see pics)! There is not a speck of rust ANYWHERE on this truck and it just looks awesome coming down the road. Truly a time capsule!INTERIOR:The inside of the truck is just as nice as the outside. Factory bucket seats are in great shape with the only damage being a small tear on the driver's side bottom on the outside of the seat by the recliner lever, therwise no signs of wear in the front or rear jump seats. Carpet is all in excellent condition. No cracks on the dash as a dash mat was installed on the truck 21 days after it was purchased in 1989. All plastics are in excellent condition inside the truck which is very unusual for an Arizona vehicle and attests to the fact the the car was always garaged. All windows roll up and down or open/close effortlessly. Doors all lock and unlock as they should and open and close like new. AC blows cold and heater is hot. The original sound system was "upgraded" to a cassette deck in 1992 when they took it to, ou guessed it, ears and sunk $152 in a new deck and speakers. Believe it or not it still sounds good! Everything works inside the truck except the aftermarket cruise control, hich may actually work, ut I haven't been able to figure it out nor have I read the owner's manual on it which, f course, hey kept. The fuel gauge works when it wants to and will be in need of a new sending unit if this bother's you. All dash and interior dome lights work as they should. Overall the interior is very clean, omfortable and great looking!MECHANICAL:It shouldn't surprise anyone by now to find out that this truck was maintained like crazy. The receipts will blow your mind. Some of the major things that most people are concerned about is the AC system which was completely gone through at 91k miles at a cost of over $1500. Plugs, ires and ignition cables all replaced at 93k miles. Power steering pump rebuilt and all belts replaced at 92k miles ($644). Timing belt, alve cover gasket, ater pump all done at 87k miles ($783). Muffler and tail pipe assembly replaced and rear axle seals and rear brakes all done at 87k miles ($572). Clutch master and slave cylinders replaced at 86k miles. Clutch and bearings done at 70k miles. The list goes on and so you get the idea that this truck was just very well taken care of and ANYTHING it needed it got. Runs just great with no issues. Drive it anywhere at anytime. Super comfortable truck for any long trip. Spare tire is in good shape and all factory tools are in place. Drive with peace of mind knowing how well this truck was maintained.SUMMARY:Super nice Mazda and a rare find. I never see the Mazda trucks in this kind of condition. If you are a Mazda enthusiast, ou need to consider this truck and it is priced cheap for such a nice rig. Would fit right in at a classic car show or towing a classic camper, otorcycle etc. Check my feedback and the pictures and bid with confidence!
