1979 Mark V Cartier Edition. Owned by older lady and spend & first 38 years in Palm Springs. Her name is on the owners plate on the dash. Due to older age she gave the Lincoln to her Grandson the Lincoln spent the last two years in Hollywood &with her grandson. He sold the car because he did not have enough room for parking. Car was always parked inside since new. The paint is all original and looks great, couple of small chips and one small dent in driver side rear wheel well. Interior looks great. The 1979 Cartier models featured the same "light champagne" paint color as the year before, but the trim strip across the landau vinyl roof was now red in color instead of silver/chrome. Turbine aluminum wheels were now color matched, and buyers had a choice of cloth or leather seating with the same design. In 1979 in Paris on rue de la Paix; in London on New Bond Street; in New York on Fifth Avenue, plus 91 other countries around the world, Cartier was recognized as being the international jeweler par excellence. Designer Series Lincolns had special colors and appointments and along with the Cartier Edition, other designer editions with special treatments were represented by Bill Blass, Givenchy and Gucci. The Cartier Edition was offered in Light Champagne with a distinctive matching Landau vinyl roof and body side moldings that are highlighted by fine Dark Red paint stripes. Color-keyed turbine-style cast aluminum wheels were also standard. The Cartier Edition interior also exhibits the Champagne color throughout the interior with the Dark Red accent on the seats and door pull straps. Six-way power front seats are part of the Designer Editions, as is the interior light group and the many standards that were part of the package for every Mark V that came off the production line. The instrument panel of every Designer Edition Mark V bears the owner's nameplate in 22-karat gold finish. The Cartier monogram appears on the rear deck lid and the Cartier signature is in the opera windows. This Cartier edition Lincoln Mark V is reported as original and maintains its original paint and interior; the car is original throughout the odometer displays less than 82,000 mile.
