Car description

1939 Lincoln Lebaron K9666. The last great K show car, and the 5th to last Lincoln K ever produced. It is one of 6 Lebaron Convertible Sedans produced in this final year of production, Model designation 413-B, with divider window, in 5 passenger configuration. K9666 was the salon show car in 1939, and would have therefore likely been the car shown at the 1939 N.Y.C. Worlds Fair in the Ford/Lincoln Pavilion. It came from the factory in Butternut Yellow with Red pinstripes! The original owner purchased the car in NYC and immediately had it painted black, with his initials on the rear doors, RHC, for Roscoe H. Channing. Roscoe was a mining tycoon and partner of Cornelius Vanderbilt. He drove K9666 to Tuscon in 1940. I have his notebook which I discovered in the rear door pocket stating such. The car would remain in Tuscon until the 1970s when it was purchased from his wife's estate and became a permanent part of the great Jack Passey's collection in California. Jack is affectionately known as Mr. Lincoln, and is credited with saving dozens of these great cars.
Approximately 21,000 original miles. Ample power. 2 videos of the car running/driving are attached here.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvjkhgeirD8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haSKvvWMsig
I have owned numerous Lincoln K, and this one pulls very strong and drives great but will require the usual work on the cooling system. The heads should be removed and cleaned or replaced, and the radiator cleaned. The temp will creep up as it is now. This is standard operating procedure on Lincoln Ks. If you are reading this I'm likely preaching to the choir. Could use carb kit. Service brakes for safety. I know guys that can do this work and the Lincoln Owners Club is riddled with talent and resources..
90 years old and has never been apart! Always loved, Always carefully stored. very VERY well preserved! K9666 was awarded Best Original Car at the 2017 CCCA PNW Concours. The car is featured in Jack Passey's book 'For the love of old cars, and the trunk is filled with ribbons and such from when Jack showed the car at Pebble Beach some years back. K9666 is quite well known in the Westcoast Lincoln Community. Arguably the best original example remaining, with the final Lincoln K salon provenance. There is one other somewhat comparable Lebaron Conv Sedan For Sale currently, listed in Hemmings for $170k. It is a restored car in the hands of a dealer.
K9666 is the only Survivor Car of it's kind I have seen as of late, and has wonderful consistent patina throughout. I'm a long time member of the LOC, and this is one of my personal cars. This car is also advertised on Hemmings site and is advertised locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
The starting price is well below what the car is worth, and well below what I have been offered but alas followed by excuses.... So we are..
Bid with Confidence. No dealers. No trades. No BS. No Reserve.
Car is sold as is and shipping is the buyers responsibility.
