Car description |
---|
This is a true original "code A" Presidential Black 61 Lincoln Continental with the rare grey trim code 21 that runs, drives and brakes great. $6K in recent repairs to include a rebuilt rear end, new radiator, water pump, starter motor, battery, spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, upper and lower radiator hoses, heater hoses, fan belts, air filter, fuel filter, brake light switch, thermostat, rear brake lines, valve cover gaskets, hood insulation and a fresh oil change and oil filter. The interior received a new headliner, carpeting and replaced and refinished seats and all 4 original Lincoln rubber floor mats. The dash has some cracks, but the door panels, original wood inserts and chrome are in really nice shape, it even has the original door panel carpeting!! All four-windows work from all switches. The 6-way power seat, horn, radio, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, door lights, overhead light, headlights, high beam, rear lights, brake lights light and turn signals are all working!!! The trunk still has the original trunk liner, spare tire cover and jack!! The car was repainted the original code A Presidential Black years ago, but the paint is faded mostly on the hood and trunk areas. There were some amateur surface repairs made on the trunk, and the driver's side rear quarter has flaking and cracked paint, but no evidence of any damage or filler. The passenger side body and paint is in remarkably nice shape with a beautiful shine, I suspect it was not exposed to the sun as much as the rest of the car. The under carriage and floor boards are in excellent shape and solid. The exhaust, mufflers and resonators are all in good condition. The car sits on a nice set of Cooker Radial tires with the period correct white wall width. The car runs and drives very well, the engine is quiet, the transmission shifts well and the steering and braking are very smooth.
The car may have a professional wet sand and buffing before the sale, which should bring some life back into the faded paint.
Included in the sale is the repair shop maintenance manual, the 36-page owner's manual, the original 20-page colored dealer brochure and the original build sheet along with period correct license plates. The car has a clean title. If you have any questions or need additional pictures, please feel free to call or text me at 443-223-6840.
