GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1978 Land Rover Series III for your consideration. This well-maintained example is powered by a 2.25L I4 gas motor which is mated to a synchromesh 4-speed manual transmission. Power is sent to all four wheels which makes this a capable vehicle on any terrain.
This Series III is finished in a wonderful classic color of beige which is complemented nicely by a white top. Land Rover fitted the Series III with skylight windows in the rear of the vehicle which is a feature that can still be found on current Land Rover models. This truck rides on Goodyear Wrangler tires which are wrapped around the color matched 15-inch wheels. Interior features a black dashboard, floor, and trim pieces which is complemented by tan leather seating for five. These Land Rovers are spartan vehicles with few convenience features, but that is the point. The Series III Land Rover is a go anywhere machine that also features super cool classic looks and would make for a great weekend or beach cruiser.
This example was imported to the United States eight years ago from Central America where it was used on a plantation. It first was imported to Boston and lived on the East Coast before coming to Michigan. The selling owner notes that in the past five years it has been driven roughly 500 miles which equates to only 100 miles per year. This example has been well maintained and has a replaced oil transfer unit, starter, regulator, and bearings. The selling owner also notes that the odometer does not work so the exact mileage is unknown.
