1968 Checker Marathon.I bought this and a 65 Checker from a 90 year old man who had built a brand new building 30 years ago to store these 2 and his 3rd one which he had fully restored and he donated it to a Checker museum. The 65(which I sold) was a 6 cylinder/3 speed manual trans.I also had bought an 80 a week after I bought these two which I sold too already. This 68 was my most fave of the trio!Because of its V8 mtr/auto trans, and overall looks! The previous owner had told me that he used to drive this one often before storing it.Again, it was stored in DRY storage(this makes all the difference in the world)!Even its brakes were still up and working perfectly!I had it started/running 15 minutes after it was delivered to me and it actually ran flawlessly! I drove it up and down my driveway many x’s!But eventually its fuel pump went out, I took it off a year ago and I never touched car again. While I had it running I filled it up with antifreeze so this part is SAFE!I even bought a new fuel pump and I matched it up with original one and it’s the same. So, put it back on, freshen up all fluids, maybe clean tank(it seemed ok tho?), and u will hv a sweet running/driving CLASSIC Checker!Frame is SOLID!And body for the most part is solid minus rust/rot on floorboards, trunk floor, and mainly rockers.ALL of these areas r easily patchable! And it can use a little upholstery work but not too bad.Chrome steering wheel has already been removed(it’s only sold with stock steering wheel).Cool thing too is, it was a non air car but previous owner has inside of trunk a complete ac system down to the ac compressor belt!Even has a brand new battery.I love Checker’s! I go back and forth whether to even sell it or not but especially with pandemic going on rt now I just can’t get motivated to work on anyone of my vehicle’s these day’s!Old car market is INSANE rt now(and it’s never going to dye down)!Seriously, try finding another classic car for this type of $ in this condition(I surely do not c any?).Has a clear title too!If u r far away I can recommend a fast/reliable auto transporter if needed. And I’ll accept CASH only if coming in person or a bank wire transfer if u r far away(after a $500 non refundable deposit). Thanks
