This Jeep’s spend it entire life in California under roof and it shows! No rust, and the underbody looks as good as the top side. It still has the original 9B Olympic white paint and renegade decals from 83. There are no substantial dings or dents and the body is very clean with very minimal wear. I can’t find a single dent or major ding on the body other than small paint chips on the front from normal driving. Not perfect, but what you would expect from a garaged jeep that’s been very well taken care of with only 63,000 original miles! The soft top is in good shape with no rips, tears or major imperfections in the window plastic.
The dash, dash pad and visors are all in excellent shape showing almost no wear. Even has the original windshield hold down strap! All the gauges and lights work with the exception of fuel/temp. The inside of the tub has been “bed linedâ€, there is no carpet. The jeep still has the original seats and you can tell they haven’t had much sit time. There is a small tear on the side of the driver seat a small tear in the back seat. There is a fairly substantial stain on the passenger seat that I was unable to get out with “normal†cleaning. A pro could probably get it taken care of?
Mechanically the jeep is top notch. I just spent a substantial amount of money making sure everything was in excellent operating condition. The 258 6 cylinder engine appears to be brand new! Starts, and idles great. Leaks nothing! Drives excellent, 5 speed shifts and clutches smooth, accelerates and brakes like it should. There isn’t a leak coming from anywhere under this jeep.
The jeep has a few tasteful upgrades! It has a small suspension lift with new shocks, and sway bar w/ disconnects as well as Sommers brothers one piece axle shafts in the rear (I believe it has some sort of traction aid in the rear axle, but can’t verify what type). The suspensions not too big but has a really nice stance, easy to get in and out of and still handles great on the road. The 32x11.50 cooper discoverer tires have full tread and are wrapped around new black spoke wheels. Has a HD rear fuel tank that appears to have a higher capacity than the factory option but I’m not 100% on exact size. It also has a HD rear swing away tire carrier/rack and hi-lift jack. Also has a Warn winch with the factory mounting brackets (don’t have remote). The upgrades make it really practical for getting a little further out for adventuring!
This is a very low mileage machine that hasn’t seen much use or abuse in its life which is rare for these jeeps. If you have any questions about specific details Jeep please free to contact me @ 574-265-3906. Thanks for looking!
