Car description |

RARE Limited 4X4 1981 Jeep Wagoneer SJ-Body Automatic. This was the first luxury family/service wagon from which the SUV model type originated as it exists today! It has a New Interior, Restored Exterior. Newly rebuilt Engine 258 Cu. In. V6 GAS OHV Naturally Aspirated. Clear CA Registration; and owner Pink slip lists this vehicle category as SW: ''Station Wagon''.
Moving--must sell! This price will pay for the upholstery only! And not even put a dent in the cost of the engine, electrical, wheels tires, paint, etc. etc.
The Limited model was made 1978 to 1983 when AMC was purchased by Chrysler. In 1984, the "Limited" was renamed the "Grand Wagoneer", which means the Limited was NOT produced after 1983, even though the SJ-body remained through the Chrysler years. Therefore, ANY ads for a Wagoneer 1984 or after claiming to be a Limited are incorrect.
A New transmission, steering and fuel systems, new electrical, and drives with power. Before restoration, it had approx. 220,000 original miles and now has exactly 156 miles on the new engine. New whitewall tires and brakes, and luggage rack excellent with adjustable bars. New Exterior paint similar to original color, with replaced faux wood-grain vinyl side panels that show areas of fading, and have contrasting bumper frames. There is extra wood-grain vinyl remaining for purchase.
Gorgeous new interior, seats in caramel color leather, including the dash and steering wheel, and have matching velour upholstery detail like the original, but more luxurious with contrasting cord trim. The back seat is a single unit without an armrest, but each side has upholstery designed as individual seats. Dash dials are in very good condition, a new radio, mileage pictured from March 2019. There are seat belts in front and back. The interior side panels of all 4 doors are original, and show wear commensurate with age. Windows are original in clear glass, passenger roll-up handles that need operation repair and some small parts attention. Dad invested over $30K at age 89.
Sleek new headliner, including visors, outstanding. Plush new factory quality carpet in matching tan color, including wagon bed and rear hatch. New cargo cover pulls out and hooks on either side, then retracts. This vehicle is from So Cal; no weather damage in under-carriage; owned by family members for 35 yrs. It was built in Toledo, Ohio, has a steel body, and gets about 13 to 17 miles per gallon city.
Battery dead. Buyer will have to tow to get it charged. Title clear. Needs smog test.
Accept cash or bank money order or bankcheck. No personal checks.
Email to ask questions or to arrange to see it. No text messages.
Questions welcomed. The description is according to Dad's details and photographs, an auto broker for 60 years. I'm a licensed salesperson 40 yrs., honest, and strive to be accurate with the information given to me. I was born in the dark, but it wasn't last night. If you are a looky-loo or a critic, or just surfing used cars for entertainment, and not really interested in bidding, PLEASE reserve all negative opinions and "helpful" comments for another auction! I don't need your personal input.
IF YOU HAVE NEVER OWNED A CLASSIC CAR, IT IS TRULY A SIGNIFICANT RESPONSIBILITY-- ALMOST LIKE HAVING A CHILD! I STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT IF YOU NEVER HAVE, CHOOSE ANOTHER VEHICLE ON WHICH TO CUT YOUR TEETH! IF YOU LIKE HI TECH DEVICES IN A CAR, WIFI AND LOCATION, BLUETOOTH, MOVIE SCREENS, OR ANY OF THAT, YOU'LL ONLY HAVE THEM IF YOU BRING ALONG YOUR SMART PHONE! THIS BEAST IS ALL STEEL AND AIN'T GONNA DRIVE ITSELF, YOU GET ME??
